I Blame James (And Fred)

Chapter 4; The Rescue

Previously; Then Teddy could see the face of Ginny Potter and he smiled. Ginny ,however, seemed shocked to see him.

Teddy Lupin was amused to say at least. He had never seen her this speechless.

"Hi mum!" Lily had leaned over to see what the mirror showed and waved at the mum.

"Lily?, Teddy?" Now Harry's face could be seen over Ginny's shoulder

"Hi dad"

"Where are you!?" Teddy could see that Ginny was close to shouting but still remained calm.

"Well, that's a bit difficult to explain"

"Well, I want an explanation to why Harry and I came home to an empty house with a broken time turner on our carpet!"

"We're in 1995" Hugo piped up

"What!"

"Hugo!" James turned to his cousin

"What?"

"Why did you tell her that!?"

"Why wouldn't he!?" Rose came to her brother's defence

"Because she'll kill me!"

"And not telling her would help your case?" Roxanne pointed out

"Everyone shut up!"

Albus Potter certainly thought being in the past was a strange experience, Al didn't know what was most strange, though, seeing your grandmother 25 years younger?, not being born for another 9 years?, his parents being 14 and 15? Seeing Teddy's dead dad? All of it was weirding him out. A lot.

After about 20 minutes, when Al was sure that his past-grandmother thought all of them was actually asleep he woke up Hugo, who was actually sleeping, and tip-toed to the room Teddy, James and Teddy was sharing. When they arrived Albus saw that the girls were already there. At first, no one said anything, Albus guessed they just don't know what.

"So you all know, I am sorry for accidentally bringing us to the past" James was looking down at his lap, his hands fidgeting, which Al knew he was nervous.

"It wasn't only your fault James, I did my fair share to"

"It was my idea, though"

"So. What are we supposed to do now ,exactly?" Roxanne asked

"Well Harry said that we should just stay put and wait for them to come and get us home" Teddy replied

"So nothing" James said bitterly

"Got any better ideas? There's a war going out there right now"

"I know that,but I just don't like doing nothing"

The silence in the room was interrupted by Hugo yawing.

"What? I'm tired, it's been a long day."

"He's right, we should all go to bed"

Al nearly had to drag Hugo back to their shared room because he kept leaning against the walls and nearly falling asleep. He did the moment his head hit the pillow but Albus couldn't fall asleep. He couldn't stop thinking about the worst case scenarios, like if his dad didn't find a way to get them back home and they were stuck here forever. What would they do? Albus couldn't find an answer.

After what felt like hours of nothing but hearing Hugo sleeping Al must have fallen asleep too, because he woke up with Rose and Victoire in their room,why was it still dark? They were smiling and Rose was shaking her brother awake.

"What's going on?" Al heard his own groggy voice ask.

"What time is it?" Hugo's muffled voice could be heard under his blanket

"Al, your dad's here!" It took a minute for the words register in Al mind. But when it did he jumped out of the bed and begun to dress.

"Hugo come on, my dad's here!" Al jumped over to Hugo's bed,while trying to put on pants (spoiler alert, it didn't end well) Hugo sat up, smiling.

"Really? we're going home?"

"Not if you don't get dressed we're not" That got him going up from the bed.

When Al, Hugo,Rose and Victoire got down the stairs and into the hall where they had appeared Al's dad was hugging Lily but let go when he saw them. Albus ran down the hall and hugged his dad, his cousins coming after him.

"How did you even get here?" Al asked his dad after letting go of the hug.

"Yeah, James broke the time turner" Roxanne commented

"Hey!"

"That's a story for when we get home" The dark hall suddenly became light and Albus blinked, his eyes getting used to the sudden light.

"What's going on here?" No one had noticed Sirius coming down the stairs. He stopped when he saw Albus's dad and Al saw his dad freeze a little at the sight at his dead godfather.

"Harry? Is that really you?"

"Hello Sirius"

"Wow you look old"

"Thanks"

"No really how old are you?"

"If you really must know, 40"

"That's older than I am now" Al saw his dad's happy slipped off his face after that comment and he looked away from Sirius.

"We really must be going soon. It was really good seeing you Sirius"

Understanding became apparent in his eyes and Sirius smiled.

"You got a really good family Harry, you deserve it" Harry smiled back.

"Yeah I do, although some can cause trouble" James smiled sheepishly at their dad and Sirius laughed. His face became grim again.

"I'm guessing me or Remus or Molly, aren't going to remember this are we?"

"Afraid not, after we leave you're going to pass out and wake up as if nothing have happened"

"Then I guess this is goodbye"

"Yeah." Sirius stepped forwards at the same time as his godson stepped towards him. They met in the middle and embraced in a hug. After they let go Harry turned to family.

"Everyone hold at least one finger on this and the other hand in someone else's" He took out a circular object and everyone held one hand on it, Albus took Lily's hand and she smiled at him.

"And also, Ginny?" Al saw his dad smile

"Yeah, it just took a long time for me to realise it"

Their dad took out his wand and started to chant something fast and Al felt his body beginning to feel lighter and then everything around them started to spin around and he felt nauseous.

Then everything stopped and Albus fell. Albus felt someone hug him from behind and realized that his was his mum. He turned and hugged her back, he saw that his aunts and uncles were there too. It was a pretty happy ending for all of them, except for James and Fred who were probably grounded for the rest of the summer.
