The Death Affect

Chapter two

"A-Alex!" I turned to her. Her eyes were wide open. I grabbed her. I pulled her and started running. She started running with me. I looked back at her. She looked scared. Not even. More like terrified. I stopped. She stopped right away as well. I looked at her directly in the eyes.
"Stop."
"What?"
"Stop it. This isn't you. I don't like it. So stop." She just looked at me blankly. I couldn't hold it in anymore. I slapped her cross the face.
"Hey!" She grabbed her cheek.
"Knock it off!"
"Okay just don't slap me again, Jesus Christ."

We got into her car and started driving.
"First of all we gotta get mom, then food, weapons, and lots of water. After that we can call friends and family. Okay?"
"Yeah alright." We started driving. 'Who would I call first?' I thought. We weren't really close to my other family members, only a few. I had an older brother, but he lives in Washington and we live in Arizona. That was it. And I only have a few friends. My friend Jace, Angie, Alana, Grace, Leo, and, Brent. Brent and I were closer than friends. Closer than best friends. Everyone would say we were 'friends with benefits.' But we weren't in a relationship. And we didn't do anything inappropriate. We've known each other for our entire lives. Our moms were good friends before us.  It was like we were siblings, but we both didn't see it like that. We could tell each other anything, and we didn't hide any secrets from each other, but I am. I like him, more than friends. The only ones who knows that are Alex and Grace. I've known Grace sense preschool and we've still been friends. When I first started liking him, she was the first one to know. It was in the beginning of seventh grade. It was Grace, Brent, Leo and me. We were at lunch and guys would always try to flirt with me 'cause I was 'pretty'. This guy named Jacob Johns came up to me.
"Why hang out with these losers when you can out with us?" He smiled. He's teeth were so white it could blind someone if they were in the sun.
"She might notice you if you don't go around putting on so much cologne that you smell like a girl." Brent said. Leo snorted. Almost everything made him laugh. Grace smiled, trying to keep the laughter in. Jacob looked pissed.
"Is that so?" He said angrily.
"Yeah, so go away." Leo and Grace almost bursted out laughing. Brent bite his tongue to hold it in. Jacob glared at us and walked away. Right after that Leo and Grace bursted. They were bright red. Brent laughed a little. My heart pounded. I told Grace the next day. Alex found out I liked someone so I told her. It's been three years sense and Alex thinks I got over him.

We got home and got mom.
"Mom we need to go now." Alex said strictly. I've never heard this tone of voice from her. She was changing.
"I know." Mom pulled out four guns, twelve bullets, two pocket knives, a pack of water, a back pack of food, and shot gun.
"When did you have these!" I was surprised. After dad had died my mom never touched a weapon again. My dad was killed by a gun that was accidentally shot off.
"There's somethings you don't know." She confused me at times. For a thirty-two year old she did a lot of surprising things. Alex picked up somethings.
"Come on, we don't have all day." Alex was acting bossy. It bothered me. She was bothering me. Her and her attitude. 
"I called your brother and he's fine we're going to meet his somewhere in Las Vegas. And I called Grace's and Brent's mom. So Grace, Mike, Justin, Brent, and Micky are coming and so our there parents. If you want anyone else call them. Leo, Jace, and Angie. I pulled out my phone. I texted Leo first. He always answers me in less than one minute. I told him to come to my house. He had no family except for his older brother Dally there parents died in a wild fire on a camping trip. He answered me right away. He said that they already were on there way to my house and that Jace had stayed the night last night. Jace's life was worse. His parents abuse him if he gets something wrong or if there bored. He sleeps on the cement outside on the porch at night. His older sister hated him 'cause he wasn't attractive and he wasn't smart. She always said that he didn't belong in there family. I wasn't surprised he was at Leo's house. Jace would always go to his house and stay there to get away from his family. And if they came to get him a lot of the Dally would yell at them. Jace was like a younger brother to Dally. Dally would always protect Leo and Jace. He cares for him as much as he cares for Leo. Next I texted Angie. A few minutes after she called me.
"Hello"
"ARE YOU OKAY? DID YOU GET HURT? PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE OKAY I'M NOT GOING TO LET YOU GET HURT ANYONE ILL BE THERE SOON WHEN I GOT YOUR TEXT I WENT STRAIGHT TO PACKING AND GOT JACKIE AND KAIDEN TO PACK RIGHT AWAY THEN WE GOT INTO THE CAR SO DON'T WORRY IM ALMOST THERE!" She kept shouting into the phone.
"I'm alright just calm down..."
