"We dont know." Was my father's short, precise explanation.

"Oh wow. Great. Wonderful. That solves all our problems now doesnt it." I snap back, throwing my hands into the air.

This conversation was going nowhere. It kept going back to the same argument.

"How in the hell do you not know?" Morgan roared out, finally having enough of my parents bullshit. "How do you not know why one of your pups has not shifted?? 6 years after it should've happened, not only has the shift not happened but you don't know why it hasn't happened? Can you be more useless?" She conclude, slamming her fist into the wooden table, causing the twins to stare at her again from their position on the floor.

"Why do you care?" My oldest brother snapped at her. "You're just some rogue bitch, that can't even keep her legs close-"

He wasn't even halfway done with his sentence before my fist connected with his face. Wrapping a hand around his bicep i took him to the floor, slamming my fist into his jaw a second time.

Obviously the speed and abruptness at which this had happened had taken him by suprise. I was now straddling him as i wrapped a hand around his throat, slowly tightening my grip as i spoke.

"Enough." I could feel the power in the words that left my mouth. "You've crossed the line one to many time asshole, and I wont allow it anymore. I suggest you sit down and shut the fuck up before i rip you apart."

Slamming his head into the floor for emphasis i stood up from my position, rolling my shoulders before taking my seat again.

"They're Mates." My father mumbled out, as though the thought of such a thing was too shocking to be true.

"What?" Morgan screeched, almost hursting all of our eardrums as we jolted away from her. "We are not Mates. Not a chance in hell."

"Then how would you explain the protectiveness you hold for each other?" My father questioned her.

"The asshole has clearly grown on me. It tends to happen when he basically moves into your house without asking." She snapped back harshly.

What the actual hell?? Mates? No ways. Why the hell would my father even think of such a thing. It's absolutely ridculous. Morgan and i wouldnt last a minute in a relationship we'd be trying to murder one another within seconds.

Mates? No...there weren't tingles, and she didn't have the so called 'delicious scent' that you'd smell when you met your mate.

Sure she was hot but no. No way were the two of us mates.... we'd know by now.

"If those two are mates I swear to everyone in this room that I'll dye my hair pink for a week." Hadley vowed with wide eyes.

See even she knew there was no chance in hell the Moon Goddess would pair Morgan and I.

However Kansas on the other hand was staring at Hadley with a raised eyebrow as she shook her head.

My father still stared between the two of us, as did the rest of the family. They couldnt decide wether to believe us or not.

"Oh for Christ's Sake! If we were mates there would be tingles-" at that i slammed my hands down onto Morgan's arms, rubbing them up and down her arms... and that's when i felt it.

Nothing... i felt absolutely nothing. No tingles, sparks any kind of anything.

"See!" I exclaimed to everyone. "And she'd smell like super delicious or whatever-" shoving my nose into the nape of her neck. For that i received a slap to the back of the head as she shoved me out of her personal space. A death glare dirceted at me.
