For as long as I can remember I have worn eyeglasses.

My name is Emma; I am 14 years old. I live in Rockville.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. The alarm clock went off, it was 6:45 Friday morning. The sun was shining through my window. I rip my light pink blankets off of me and slowly get out get out of bed. The dark wooden floor is cold. I walked down stairs to see my mother and father sitting at the kitchen table making breakfast. I sat in the chair across from my dad.

"Morning Emma. Are you excited for your last day of school?" my dad asked with a smile on his face

"Of course I am one more day and I will be out of elementary school." I replied to him

My mother walked over with plates of pancakes. I ate mine really fast so I had time to get ready for school. When I finished I ran upstairs to get dressed and do my hair. By the time I was done curling my hair I had 5 minutes until the bus came and I still had to clean my glasses down stairs. I put on my favorite pair of running shoes and go down stairs. Well I was cleaning my glasses to wear to school the bus driver was honking at me. I ran and grabbed my backpack and must have dropped my glasses in the driveway running to catch the bus. I sat in the back seat just looking at the window. Suddenly there was a huge car accident that involved a van and transport.

"Did you guys see that big accident right back there?" I asked some of the kids on the bus.

"Hey Emma where are your glasses because you need them." Chirped a kid

School today wasn't any better. I got teased and bullied like any normal days. Finally the bell rang to go home! Walking through my front door was going to be the best thing that happened today. I walked up the bus stairs and back to my seat and looked out the window in silence. When we drove past the same place that the accident happened earlier it happened again. This time I didn't say anything. When I got home I ran in the house and got my glasses and ran back to the accident. It wasn't there anymore. I took off my glasses and right in front of me was the accident. I walked over to the van when I heard a baby crying and a woman screaming in pain and shock. In the back seat was a newborn baby and her mom they were ok. In the front was a man that was driving, he was dead. I looked closely at the woman in tears she looked identical to my mom, and the baby looked at me.

I walked back home a little confused and walked into my parents bedroom. There was a bag under the bed with paper in it. I pulled it out to see what it was and inside was a newspaper. The front page was a picture of an accident with a transport and van. The article  said mom and baby survived but father dead.
