On August 20, 2001 a woman named Angel McCathy was rushed to the hospital because her water so happen to break right when she was shopping for groceries. Her husband Charles McCathy was at work when it happened, he's a manger of a big toy company.
"Everybody please move out the way, this woman is in labor right now!" one of the nurses screamed while pushing Angel in the stretcher.
"Angel are you still here with us, can you hear me and are you alright?" the midwife asked
There was no respond, she just nodded her head "Yes" then she continue her heavy breathing. The nurses and the midwife finally made it to the emergency room. They helped put Angel on the hospital bed to get ready to give birth to her baby girl, the midwife got her surgical mask and gloves and begin to help Angel go into to labor.
"Okay Angel I need you to push as hard as you can because I can already see the baby's head poking out. On three push okay? 1-2-3! Push!" the midwife said to Angel
Angel started to push as hard as she can then all of a sudden......she started to have a seizure. The nurses and also the midwife was noticing that. So they rushed to her to find out why is Angel having a seizure, while giving birth.
"What's going on?!" Nurse Rina said
"I think she's having a seizure!" Nurse Flo said
"I NEED MORE NURSES AND WE NEED TO GET THIS BABY OUT NOW, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!" the midwife said
More nurses came to help ease Angel's seizure and other nurses tried to get the baby out. Half of the baby's body was still inside, the only thing they can do is pull the baby out of her. The nurses began to pull the baby out gently, since the baby is still fragile. Finally after 3 more pulls the baby was out, while everybody was relieved that the baby is out but, it wasn't crying.
"Why isn't the baby crying? Didn't you take the fluid out from her nose and mouth?" the midwife said while she try to ease Angel's still happening seizure.
"Yes, we certainly did, I don't know why she isn't crying yet." said Nurse Ellenise
"Maybe there's still more fluid, use the bulb syringe and try to take a little more fluid." the midwife said
Nurse Ellenise did what she was told and search for any more fluid, there was actually little more fluid inside and within seconds the baby said crying. Nurse Ellenise cut the baby's umbilical cord and put the baby to a separate station. Everybody heard the crying and they all cheered but, on the other hand Angel was still seizuring.
"Angel are you still with us? Can you hear me Angel?!" the midwife said to Angel now lifeless body
Later on Angel was pronounced dead due to the seizure she had, her seizure was nonstop. Her heart couldn't take the seizuring anymore so the heart itself stopped and shut down. The midwife told the nurses to tell them to call Angel's relatives about her death.
"It's a sad case how she left the world, may she rest in peace." the midwife said sorrowfully
Everybody join hands and bowed their heads for a moment of silence. That's how I, Sabrina Lila Smith was born.
