James stood shirtless, staring down at an oversized log. One arm clutched an axe and the other shut tight in a fist. He picked up the axe with both hands and began to chop, thinking through the number of things that had happened throughout the year.
First, he fell a asleep on a cold floor in his little home back in London, only to wake up on a beach floor in a whole new world.
Second, he was discovered to be the only non-fairytale related, non magical person on this island.
Third, there was absolutely no way of him getting back.
Fourth he managed to make a pretty good living here. He even made friends and shockingly a girlfriend.
He stopped for a moment. James was tall, handsome if he may add, light skinned with dark brown hair (that all fell to one side of his head), and light brown eyes. He was pretty well built, since he didn't have much to do here, but keep for the animals and cut wood all day, he worked out at least once every other day just to feel like he had something to live for.
He continued to chop wood for another hour or so, when he heard a sudden soft voice behind him.
"You, know you have plenty of time to chop wood any other day right?"
He turned to look at a girl. She had short brown hair, and big green eyes. It was Rapunzel.
"Rapunzel?"
He said with a big smile on his face. He walked over to give her a big hug.
Since he arrived Rapunzel has been nothing but a sister to him. She allowed him into her home, if it wasn't for her, he'd probably still be living on the beach.
"So, you discover a magical land, full with castles, princes, princesses, fairies and sometimes talking animals and you decide to spend your days cutting wood?"
She handed him a shirt to put on as she spoke,
"You need to take a break and get out of here."
James sighed,
"I-"
"She's right you know."
James turned towards the second voice. A man with the same dark brown hair as he, but with a somewhat growing beard stood before them.
"Eugene! I had it all under control!"
"Hey, don't mind me . I just figured he could use more than one friend here, when he gets the news.... So I invited a few others. Now If you both follow me inside, dinner is ready."
