"Oh, complete na ba 'yang gamit mo? 'Wag mong hayaan na pagpawisan ka ha."

"Ma, basketball camp ang pupuntahan ko. Malaki ang chance na pagpapawisan ako." Maine said laughing, rolling her eyes.

"Eh basta. Masama bang magbilin sa bunso ko?" She said, stroking Maine's hair.

"Whatever, Ma." Maine shook her head in amusement before kissing her parents on the cheeks. She took her bags and walked out of the house where Jerald was waiting. Her brother didn't notice her as he was busy with his phone. Maine peeked from behind him and saw that he is exchanging text messages with Valeen.

"Hoy!" She said, hitting his arm, startling him. Jerald jumped and almost dropped his phone.

"Menggay ah!" He said, clutching the device near his chest.

"'Lika na. Malelate na 'ko."

"Ikaw lang naman ang matagal. As if maga-abroad." He said before sticking his tongue out.

"Si Mama e." She said, pointing at the woman behind her.

"Indulge me, please." Her mom said, smiling tenderly at her. "Ngayon ka lang mawawalay sa'kin ng one week e."

"Yuck, Ma! Je, 'lika na nga, drama ni mama e." Maine said, fake cringing. Jose and Jerald laughed while her mom pinched her ears.

"Alis na po kami. Hatid ko na 'tong kulit na 'to."

"Sige, ingat kayo. Text us when you get there, okay?" Jose said.

"Yes, Papa. Bye!" She said.

Jerald took her bags from her and placed them at the backseat. "Meng."

"Hm?"

"Is that my shirt?" He asked, pertaining to the baseball shirt she is wearing. Maine looked at it and gave her a toothy grin before climbing in the car, leaving him amused.

"All right, girls. Welcome to Basketball Tiu-torial 2016. This is the first time the brain of this camp thought of inviting an all-girl group for this year. Chris will not be able to join us today as he is very busy with the PBA Finals but he made sure to provide you guys with efficient and excellent coaches. You will be divided into groups of 6, and each group will have their own coach. Now, your cabin assignments and groupings are all posted on the bulletin board near the eating area. Check what group you belong to and find your assigned cabin, drop your things and we will all convene here at 3 pm, sharp. Are we clear?" Jason Mendez, the camp's facilitator said. The participants shouted their yeses and scurried away to where the bulletin board is.

Maine picked her bags up and walked towards the bulletin board in a slow pace. She took in the view of the place, acknowledging the peace and serene she is feeling.

"Hey." An unfamiliar voice said, cutting her train of thoughts. Maine turned towards the guy and gave him a questioning look. "You're the only one left here. Not eager to know your group?"

"I am but look at them. Nagkaka gulo sila lahat d'un. I came here to train and the last thing that I want to do is get an injury just because I don't know how to wait." Maine said, eyeing the girls clamoring for the sheets of paper pinned on the board. The guy chuckled, making Maine look at him.

"Good thinking. I hope you enjoy the view. The next five days will be intense, you might not have the luxury to enjoy its beauty after today. See you later, Mendoza." He said after looking at the name tag taped on my collar. He gave her a small smile and walked towards the opposite direction of their cabins.
