"If I were a Man, and I meet someone like ME."
If I were a Man, and I meet someone like ME...
Gee... I wonder how our first meeting will be.
Of course I'm not the kind who gets infatuated by mere sight
'Cuz I often fall for somebody my type.
If I will see ME... I'll sure be wanting to know
Anything and everything that don't obviously show.
I will start with plain "Hi!" like how any old convo started
And avoid asking much, like questions unwanted.
I will want to discover her likes and dislikes
I will want to uncover what clicks and what strikes.
I will see in her eyes... past the smile she is showing
I will see there is more... a mystery she's hiding.
Could be one joyful life, content on all aspects and being
Could be sadness and pain, waiting to be seen.
She will put up her guards, put a barricade up high
I will be eager to know the story inside.
We will be debating... on any topic or events
I will let her be showing some courage and sense.
Knowing I, wont put up on a convo that's stale
Nor stick on make beleiving a falsified tale.
With her grace and her wit, my attention, she'll be invoking
With ominous austerity, her curiosity, I'm provoking.
I will learn she loves Life and would want to explore
Like mother nature herself, our touch will implore.
An adventurer like I, vast plateaux we'll be knowing
To where ever there's land, sea, and air... we'll be going.
I am sure I'll discover how much knack she is able
I'll be delighted to see her lay her cards on the table.
Whether homey or not, a good girl I'll still get
'Cuz in business she will give me honour and wealth.
We will laugh, and our bellies with laughter will be hurting
For we're jokers... and with the humour we share, we'll be exploding.
We will see fun in any circumstance or misgiving
We'll see peace in our friendship, we'll be forgiving.
The Beauty of Music and Art we'll be joyfully sharing
And be dining on gourmet delights... she'll be cooking!
Though none of those three will come out... yes unless
She is swimming in happiness... that I guess.
I will learn how much Love she could hold in her heart
And how much she'll be willing, all of it she'll impart.
At first I'll be thinking, being the Man that I were...
Of the advantage I could, or the love she could share.
But looking once more at the windows to her soul
I will drop on my knees... I will want to know ALL.
She is special... but broken, who could ever enshroud
The Aura... which even small babes get astound?
How can someone be hurting, or with charm will beguiling
Misleading, deceiving... a sweet human being?
And I will take her hand... on her I'll put an armour
Anything that any harbinger could harbor.
I will give her advice... something I didn't get
I will give her refuge, strength she haven't mustered yet.
I will fuel her dreams... to her goals will propel
And I'll be the Man she will be proud to tell.
If I'll see "me" a Man, and meet someone like... ME.
If I'll see "me" a Man... who knows..? I might be?
I know I'll be weeping, saving "her" who is ME!
I'll know I'm just dreaming...
It's untruth!
It can't be!
