The Last Promise

Waiting

POV

It's morning again, another day to live my life without her, without the person I love the most. I don't know how I coped up all through these years. Maybe her words, the last words I heard from her, it helps me to live another day, wake up and wait for her but for how long?

"Hey Jade! You're pacing out again!" Leigh-anne, my best friend said to me, I look at her and saw holding two cups of coffee and hand me one

"Thanks.." I answered, she pulls a chair and place it beside me

"Thinking about her again?" she asked, I sigh before I nod my head

"For how long are you going to wait for her Jade?"

"I don't know but no matter how long it takes, Leigh.."

"You're just making your life miserable; I know she said she'll come back for you but heck Jade! Its been 5 years since the last time you saw her.."

She's right, I've been waiting for my love for nearly 5 years now, I know it sounds insane but I know she'll be back!

"I know she'll keep her word, I know she'll come back for me. I don't know what happened to her but I somewhat feel that one of these day, she'll show up.." Leigh-anne sigh and shook her head, she loves Jade like her own sister, they grew up together, they are both orphan now, they lost their parents during their childhood

"Don't say that I didn't warn you but if that's the way you want then go.."

"Thanks, oh by the way, I already told Mr. Wilson about my leave today, I need to file a new birth certificate.."

"Oh okay, you want me to accompany you?"

"No it's okay but thanks anyway.."

"Okay, be careful.." I nod my head and went towards my room, I close the door and look at my bed. I walk towards it and open the drawer on my bedside table, I took the picture I kept for so long, it's a picture of me and her, I smiled for a while but then tears starts to fall freely

"I'm still waiting for you, please do comeback.." I said, I run my finger on top of the picture

"You don't know how much I miss you, how much I long to hug and hold you again.." I added, im on the edge of giving up but every time I remember her smile and her voice saying to wait for her, somehow I find a courage to get up and wait for her for another day

I hug the picture as I cry quietly hoping and praying to see her again

Jade got busy filing and getting her new birth certificate, after that she decided to go to the park, she knows Leigh-anne won't be home this early, when she arrive at the park, she look around, a lot of couples sitting on the grass while watching the sunset, children riding their bike while their parents is watching them, Jade on the other hand took a sit on the bench near the river, she looks at it and close her eyes
