TREAD LIGHTLY
a silhouetted citadel
Rises beyond the shadows
Behold my live beating heart
Let the love chains open a trap door
Muster all your grace
And walk in with poise
But watch out!
There is a moat below. You gaze and what you see
A plain product of ordinary means
Not the sharpest knife for the honing
Not unlike this visage
As a scarecrow in a morbid rhythm
Subject only to the winds whim
Or as a retired dogs gaze
But watch out!
The teeth will bite. The tendency to utterly dismiss
The exceptionally mundane
Is your forte
A commoner in their element
For the universe is mostly simplistic
With time it turns complex, then chaotic
I'm a bit of both
So watch out! There is more to this man.
Of rush and all things haste,
Trend lightly
And enigma will enshroud her riddles.
And all mysteries will be laid bare.
