It was all normal.
There were no tears.
There was no blood.
There was no you.
But it wasn't enough.
"What are you?"
-3 weeks earlier- Thursday
Emily stood there in class bored out of her mind. She didn't need to listen to this chemistry lecture, her dad was a chemist and already taught her the majority of what she was going to learn. She had perfect grades, her mother was a doctor, yet she studied to become an author when she was younger. Emily was always known to be the friend willing to help. She was very pretty and adored by many boys too.
Soon enough Emily woke from her fantasy and realized she was staring at Josh. Josh was her crush ever since freshmen year. He looked confused once he saw her staring at him but returned a friendly smile. The bell rang, accompanied by the loud chatter and clanging of students pushing in their seats. Emily gathered her things and proceeded to her locker.
She was still lost in her thoughts as she grabbed her history book out of her locker and stuffed it in her bag." You know we don't have history homework today, right?" It was Josh. Emily's face went red with embarrassment." Y-Yeah! S-Sorry, I'm just a little out of it right now." She stuttered."If you forgot I remembered all the homework," Josh reminded her, they did have the same schedule. After telling her the list of things she needed she grabbed only around half of the things he said. The other half she already finished."So...I'm having a baseball game this weekend. Would you like to come?" Josh asked, his face going from pale to a light pink. Not wanting to ruin the moment, Emily nodded her face blushing as well as his. Emily checked her watch and cursed under her breath.
"My ride is waiting on me! I have to go. Bye, Josh! See you tomorrow!" Emily ran to the other end of the school. There stood Chara, well she was nicknamed that. Chara was a character from the popular indie game called UnderTale. She was nicknamed Chara because of the way she stood and her brown eyes looking almost red. Emily wasn't every associated with the game but found an interest in it.
"Chara" 's real name was Ezra. She was feared by her looks, but she was a real nice person when it came to personality."Emily! What's the holdup?" Ezra was a beautiful girl. She had straight black hair down to her lower back, styled to cover her face. She was very pale, almost looking like a vampire. Her physique was perfect as well. She didn't have a Kim Kardashian butt, or chest, although they were normal, they did stick out a bit. Emily blushed at the thought. She wasn't a lesbian! She was straight as spaghetti. She mumbled a quick "Nyeh heh heh," under her breath. she thought about it again, it's not that being a lesbian was... bad... She did find her attractive, she gave into her head. That wasn't weird or stupid...right?
"Hello!? Earth to Emily?" Ezra said waving a hand in front of her face. Emily blushed again."S-Sorry! Was just thinking!" She replied with a sigh."Well then c'mon, get in the car. You're mom's gonna kill me if you're late." Ezra said. Emily plopped into the car next to Ezra. The car started up, and Ezra drove her home.
Emily unlocked the door to her house. Her older brother stood in the living room. Her family was white but they did have some European background, both her parents were born in Sweden, so they spoke the language. Emily and Nate both were born in America. Though their parents promised to teach them Swedish as children, they never could find the time because of their work. Their school took the role of teaching them English. This really didn't bother Emily. Her brother stood there staring at her. He had blonde short hair, he also sported blue eyes and had a strong-looking physique. Emily also had short blonde hair, trailing to her neck and blue eyes. She did look a little scrawny, by the lack of physical activity, but was said to be healthy.
"You're late." he finally says."Bad traffic plus I forgot what the homework was!"Emily says in defence." Or maybe it could be-" He pulls her phone out of her pocket."You were busy with a boy?" She blushes."What are you talking about? I don't like anyone! Graduating is more important! Remember? You're the one who's failing! Where Annie anyways? You were supposed to pick her up." Emily says."Oh, I don't know." He says shrugging."Nate, she's five years old!" Emily yells. Nate smiles."I'm going to go out, I'll be back around eleven." He says."Eleven!? You know you're not supposed to be out that late!" Emily yells out."Yup. Anyways, bye!"
Emily sighs and climbed up the stairs to her room. She sat down at her desk and started doing her homework. Emily's mind started to wander elsewhere soon her phone rang. She picked it up."Hello?" A male voice responded,"Is this Emily Whiteman? Your little sister, Annie, has been found killed." Emily's eyes began to tear up a little."You're joking...? My little sister can't be dead!" She stuttered and gulped, unable to speak anymore."I'm sorry, are your parents home?" The policeman asked."N-No." Emily's voice cracked.
Emily's back tingled and jumped when she heard the front door open from downstairs. She barely made it down the stairs, this news made her weak. Her parents saw her tears and hugged her close, asking what was wrong. She told them, about Annie being dead. Her parents were shocked but didn't believe her."Where?" her mother asked. Emily showed her the address of where the body was located. It was in one of Annie's favorite spots. Her parents, without a word dragged Emily into the car and drove off to the park.
This can't be happening.
It's just a sick prank.
Right?
I have to call Ezra.
