Knock, knock, knock I hear three random knocks on my front door. There's an old superstition that says if you hear three knocks that seemingly have no cause, someone you love will die. But that's just stupid, it's not true, right?
That day I went to school like nothing happened. The only person I told was my best friend Jennifer. She says that I should get help or tell someone. But I really don't think that this is such a big deal. It's not even true. I move on with my day and go to my homeroom class. Today we have a supply.
"Hi class, my name is Miss. Door, nice to meet you all. Mr. Hanks is out sick, I will be with you for the rest of the week." She says
"Miss. Door, that's an odd name." I say to Jennifer sitting beside me, as my hands start to shake.
After that happened I went home "sick" because I through up. Although I probably only through up because I was so worried. My mom came and picked me up and drove us home.
" You lay here on the couch sweetie. I have to run to the store quickly to pick up some milk, eggs and some other stuff to, ok." She says as gently sets a warm and fuzzy blanket on me.
"NO!, you can't leave me here, alone." I say as I jump up and hug her.
"You'll be fine. Promise." She says as she sets me back down on to the couch.
My mom puts on her jacket and walks out the door. A few moments later I hear three more random knocks on the front door. Knock, knock, knock. This time I open the door just to make sure no one was there. When I open the door a note falls from the sky. It reads:Grocery list
Milk,
Eggs,
OJ,
And DEATH
Death, MOM I think to myself. I run out the door and go to the store next door, I assume that's were she went, it is the only store in town. I run in and see Nick, he owns the store."Have you seen my mom." I ask him as I take a quick look around the store.
"No, not lately, why?" he said to me,
" She went to the store and um, never came back do you know where she is." I said as a small tear drips slowly down my face.
"No, sorry." he replys.
I run out of the door, and go back to my house. As I am running tears are rapidly dripping down my face. Suddenly a note falls from the sky again, it reads:
I know you love your mom but because you didn't listen she has to die. You thought it was stupid and fake, but you were wrong. Not everyone keeps there promises, you should of got help.
