- Harley Thompson -

Beep! Beep! Beep!

My alarm clock blares and I slam my hand on it. I groan as I untangle myself from the sheets. I showered and changed into some ripped skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, my dad's army jacket, and my old white vans which were now yellowish. I hurried and fixed my hair and brushed my teeth. I grabbed my backpack and stuffed my phone into my back pocket. I jogged into the kitchen and grabbed a peach.

"You have everything you need?" My mom yelled from her bedroom.

"Yes!" I yelled back. A car horn blared outside. I ran outside to see my best friend Lori waving at me from her car. I shut the front door and jogged towards her car.

"Hey! Look it didn't take you 5 hours this time." Lori jokes.

"Shut up. I don't even take that long." I say rolling my eyes.

"Sure you don't." She says sarcastically. Lori turns on her Bluetooth and connects it to her car. Music blasts through and I groan.

"What kind of shit is this?" I ask.

"There's more kinds of music than just rap and Hip Hop, Harley." She smirks.

"Hey I don't always listen to rap. I listen to trap music and pop songs occasionally." I defend.

"'Occasionally.'" She says with air quotes.

I playfully smack her arm as she laughs.

"Once upon a time not long ago I was a hoe
And I'm admitting it won't take it back cause I did this shit." My phone blares.

"Hello." I answer.

"Where the hell are you hoes?" Jake yells.

"Chill out, Jake. We're pulling up into the parking lot right now." I tell him.

"About time, you bitches take for-" I cut him off.

"Yeah whatever, bye." I hang up as Lori parks. I step out of her vehicle and sling my backpack over my shoulder.

"Lori! Harper!" Jake yells running to us.

"Hey Jake." Lori chirps.

"The bell rings in 5 minutes so much for talking." Jake groans.

"We're talking right now." I say.

"We would've been here earlier but somebody takes forever to get ready." Lori says sending a glare my way.

"It's not my fault I'm not a morning person." I defend.

"Who is a morning person?" Jake exclaims. He had a point there but some have it worse than others. The bell rings.

"5 minutes more like 5 seconds." Lori says hurrying off to class with Jake following closely behind her. I pull out my phone and begin tapping away on it but I wasn't paying attention and bumped into something. More like someone.

"Watch where you're going, bitch." A voice says. It was the notorious player, Aiden Stevens. "What cat got your tongue?" He snapped.

"Who pissed in your froot loops this morning?" The words slipped right out of my mouth. Here was a small problem of mine. You know that filter in your mind that tells you not to say stupid shit? Yeah well I didn't have one of those so I was in for some trouble.

"What the hell did you just say to me?" He says.

"Forget it, alright got to go." I say trying to get past. He grips my upper arms and pulls me back. "Woah, buy me dinner first, hot shot." I snap and pry his hand off me. He laughs bitterly.

"Like I'd waste my time on a fake ass bitch, like you." He sneers.

"That's rich coming from you. Knowing that you basically are one." Once again my filter fails. My eyes widen. He clenches his jaw.

"Get out of my sight!" He grits. Instead of saying anything else that could get me killed I continue my way down the hall to class. I walk into class and take me seat next to Cyrus. I wouldn't say I was exactly friends with Cyrus but we were more like Music buddies. No doubt, Cyrus was good looking. He was a light skinned, African American, with brown eyes. He smiled as I sat down.

"You okay there? You look like you had a run in with the devil." He laughs. I look at him.

"Trust me, I did." I sighed. "Speak of the devil." I say as I look up. Cyrus follows my gaze. His eyes widen.

"You had a run in with Aiden didn't you?" He asked. Aiden searches around the room and his eyes land on me. He smirks and walks my way. I glance at Aiden for help. He gives a hand gesture to me and mouthed 'Stay calm.' I nod and see Aiden take a seat behind me. I turn my attention to Ms. Jenner.

"Alright so for this assignment, you're going to be doing acapella, but the challenge is doing it with 2 people only. You may use video editor so you and your partner may be able to do more than one sound, etc." She explains. This sounded kind of fun.

"Are we allowed to pick our own partners?" Somebody asked.

"No, I have already done that for you." She replied. The class groaned with annoyance but Ms. Jenner couldn't care less.

"Looks like we can't be partners this time." Cyrus whispers in my ear. I nod. Aiden kicks my chair.

"May I help you?" I glare.

"Nope." He says smirking. He kicks my chair again. This continues repeatedly. Ms. Jenner began reading off each pair.

"Brendan and Sarah. Cyrus and Ava. Heather and Justin. Hadley and Keira. Frankie and Jesse. Aiden and Harley." Wait what? Okay this is no longer fun. She knows she paired me up with the devil right? This boy has like temperament issues. Maybe he's bipolar. Whatever it's none of my business. The bell rings.

"See you tomorrow. Here are the requirements you will be graded on." She says as she hands out the papers.

"Ms. Jenner?"

"Yes, Harley? How can I help you?" She asked smiling warmly at me.

"I was just wondering if I could change partners you know?" I asked.

"Ah I see. I'm afraid I cannot do that, Harley. I know Aiden can be a pain but give him a chance. He can't be that bad." She says with a sad smile. I sigh and nod.

"Thank you." I say politely. Yeah, thanks for nothing. I sigh and walk out of class.

"Can't get rid of me that easily." A voice says. I jump and see Aiden leaning against the wall.

"What are you doing?" I asked annoyed.

"Leaning against the wall." He says casually. I roll my eyes and continue walking down the hall to my next class.

A/N So this is the sequel/spin off to CTBG. A couple disclaimers:

-Aiden is not in a gang

-Ace is no longer in his former gang but they still play a part in this.

-Some scenes may be disturbing or inappropriate for younger viewers.

Any other questions just ask here or PM. I am always taking suggestions and yes I am still editing CTBG. I wrote that book when I was either 11 or 12 and I've took writing classes. I will be turn 14 as of 10/10/16. Yes, I am 13 years old, which is why I have a lot of errors in the first book and my cringe worthy Divergent book which I suggest not reading because that has so many errors and problems that it would take me years to fix anywayss... I hope you like this book. Please give it a chance! Thank you so much ! ♥
