Chapter 2
"Alexis there is an invasion of demons in Connecticut. We're going to go in and wipe them out. Get your gun." Bronx said coming behind me. Not the typical conversation you'd expect from two angels. But, in the name of demons we aren't heavenly at all. All demons are for is pain, death, destruction, and evil. They're unable to feel any emotion at all. The only need they feel is evil. They go around taking the souls of humans trying to be human, trying to feel.
Obviously, we're natural enemies. Made to kill one another. We angels get an alert when groups of demons are in an area and ready to kill. That's the only thing they're made for. Destruction.
All of the atomic angels- the ones of us that go out to kill- herd up and fly off.
When we get to Connecticut you can smell them. They don't stink by all means. They're very enhancing. Like, they have this thing that just.. draws you to them. They're dangerously beautiful. But, the thing is, they're pure evil. They won't hesitate to kill you in the blink of an eye.
"Alexis, you stay with me and Paul. Joni, you go with Ralph." Bronx says as we land. Bronx is my brother. We're twins, so we have a very close relationship. We get our guns in position ready to kill demons or defend ourselves from them. We all have a different job, or position to do. We all walk carefully down a dark alley. The street isn't busy at all, not even a car or human in sight. It is late at night, almost midnight. The only light is from one lamp post but it is several feet away.
Down in the deepest, darkest part of the alley you can sense slight motion. Bronx and I just take a lead and started over. Five heads appear out of the shadows and about 9 counted bodies lie dead on the ground. Bronx looks over to me and whispers "call my name if you need help, remember you're stronger than they are."
Growls echo the deep, dark alley-way and as we get closer the faces began to become more noticeable and detailed. Their eyes glow. Mostly red. But a pair that distinctively catch my eyes are a pair of green ones. Man, were they are just so.. beautiful but dangerous. The kind you want to just wrap yourself up in and feel all warm and happy, but also the ones of a killer that's pointing a gun barrel at your temple. The ones you see and feel the fuzzy feeling of home and protection but so dangerous that it feels as if your heart stops beating and your blood turns to ice overwhelms you. I take a deep breath and set my finger on my guns trigger. They're not going to die, they're immortal. But, they will vanish back into hell; where they belong.
In a bright flash of the darkness a full out battle brakes out. Each one of us has a lethal demon managing us. Guns go off and you can hear punches being thrown. Bronx has a very strong looking looking demon. The rest of them had just average ones. But me? I had the one with the glowing green eyes. The one that looks like the leader of the pack. The other demons master.
We start circling one another and my breathing begins to get heavy and I know I cant do this by myself. I just know I'm going to die. Angels can get killed. I was just about to yell for Bronxs' help when I hear a slam to the ground, and then the metallic smell of blood. I looked over and Bronxs' body lays lifeless on the ground, covered in blood.
"Bronx" I cried out! A few steamy tears escaped my eyes. Bronx is my brother. He's the leader! What are we going to do without him? How are we suppose to get out?
Blood leaks everywhere and piles of dead bodies surround me. My eyes widen in horror as I see Bronx, laying lifeless, on the dark alley. The demon that he was fighting with started to walk toward Joni and her demon. Paul and Ralph seem nowhere to be found. Did the demons kill both of them too? I don't know. I was too occupied facing my own demon who is currently standing a few steps away from me.
I was terrified. Scared. I am going to die too then. I took a baby step back as he walks close to me. His green orbs eyeing on my every move. He turns around and growls at the approaching demon. In an instant it scatters away in fear. So, is this the leader? The toughest demon? Right on me?
He took another step and I step back hitting the brick wall. He takes another step and are were inches apart. I felt his breath on my neck, and I instantly shutte. He growls and starts up my neck with his nose, smelling me intensely. A few deep rumbles from the deepest part of his chest escape sending chills down me. His nose trails up my ear and his lips part. My heart beat frantically. All I could do is close my eyes.
I know I have to surrender. He's just going to kill me anyways. Better it be now than later. It'd be over with. I pulled my huge, pearly white, feather soft wings in and whimpered. He growled lowly into my ear. I tried to beg him to release me but the words never came out. They were swallowed into the back of my throat. Only steamy tears and whimpers came out.
"What's your name" he growls lowly. I hung my head low as more tears escaped, making my vision blurry.
He grabs my chin roughly and pulls my face up. "Look at me in the eyes" he growls angrily. More and more tears came out and I burst out crying. I can tell he had smeared blood on my face from his hand. "I am going to kill you." he says and as I stare into his pupils I get a different feeling that floats through my entire body.
My eyelids get heavy like the bricks I'm against. They close and I fall to the ground. A numb darkness fills me, and I could no longer think.
