Chapter: 62

ELIJAH  P.O.V.

We walked through the woods, once the Salvatore brothers had fled the horrendous scene back at Danyel's cabin. I held Elena's lifeless body in my arms, Jeremy and Matt right behind me, Jeremy was holding onto Matt with grief in his face, and Tyler was further in front of us scanning the area for anything that may help us find Damon and Stefan. Once we finally found ourselves out of the woods, I turned to Jeremy.

''We cant be walking around with Elena in my arms'' I said 

''I know'' Jeremy quietly said 

''I think we should bury her'' Tyler said coming towards us

''No sign of the Salvatore's'' I asked

''No havent found anything'' Tyler responded 

''Your right Tyler'' Jeremy finally said 

''Where do you want to bury her'' I said 

''Next to our parents'' Jeremy said looking at me 

We decided to sneak around through dark alleys and empty streets to get to the cemetery. Finally after 20 minutes of sneaking around we found ourselves in front of two tombstones, both were Elena and Jeremy's parents. I laid her down on the ground, and all of us with our hands began to make a hole beside her parents. Tyler had claws so he dug faster then all of us, finally we had reached a shallow hole and we stopped. I looked at the three boys who knew Elena more then I did, even though I wasnt as much around Elena as they were I thought itd be okay to say a few words. 

''Elena was a beautiful smart girl who I had considered a friend to me'' I said 

''Elijah lets not do this'' Jeremy said 

''What do you mean?'' I asked Jeremy 

''I wont say goodbye, because by tomorrow night I'll probably be dead'' Jeremy said sadly

''Dont say that man'' Tyler said 

''Its the truth'' Jeremy said 

''Im not saying goodbye either, because I know one day Ill see her again'' Matt said 

''Guys you cant do this to each other, you guys need to let go'' Tyler said 

''Tyler is right'' I said 

''Both of you dont get to say that cause you havent lost someone'' Jeremy snapped

Tyler and me stared at Jeremy, Tyler was the first to respond.

''My mom was killed, remember that?'' Tyler said angrily

''I am sorry Tyler I didnt mean to tell you that, I meant it for Elijah'' Jeremy said 

''Jeremy I have lost plenty of people in my lifetime, I lost a lover once, I loved her greatly and I felt broken once she died, I think about her every single day, Jeremy I have lost and I have grown use to the fact that in this life your existence, the life you have is only borrowed for a while, we will all day one day and you must realize people wont stay here forever, I will eventually die, Klaus, Kol, Iris, Caroline, Rebekah,Lexi, Damon and Stefan will eventually die even if they are immortals.'' I said 

''I know, but I couldve saved her when she escaped Danyel'' Jeremy said 

''Dont blame yourself'' Matt said 

''We got there and Annabelle had quickly fled, they obviously knew we were coming for you, they knew what they had to do'' I said 

''From the start, you guys were suppose to die, to be honest'' Tyler said 

''Why do you say that?'' Matt asked

''Because they knew if Elena and you two died then itd tick off Damon and Stefan, more if Elena died, thats why Elena is...'' Tyler said 

''The way everything was in the house, seemed like it happened out of pure anger, heat of the moment in a way'' I said 

''True...'' Tyler said 

''We need to find Damon and Stefan'' Jeremy finally said 

''Anything you wanna say at least'' Tyler asked Jeremy

''Elena, you were the best sister in the world'' Jeremy said and walked away along with Matt knowing they didnt want to see when I put Elena in the hole and began filling the shallow grave. 

After we left the cemetery, we decided to get a car. After finally getting one, we drove away from Mystic Falls and going back to New Orleans. We were driving through the lonely dark road leading us out of Mystic Falls when we see a red car parked in the middle of the road. I stopped the car and we all piled out of the car. I looked inside the car and no one to be found.

''Elijah'' Jeremy called out, I walked over to him, to find a woman laying on the ground.

''Shes dead, drained of blood'' Tyler said 

''Are there other vampires in Mystic Falls?'' I asked

''No, we havent heard of any new vampires'' Matt said

''I know who did this'' Jeremy spoke

''Who?'' Tyler asked

''Damon and Stefan'' Jeremy answered

''It makes sense theyd do this considering what just happened'' I said 

I first thought about how innocent people were in danger, but then it occured to me.

''Tyler give me your cellphone'' I said quickly

Tyler tossed the phone at me and dialed Rebekah, she answered on the first ring.

''Elijah'' Rebekah said 

''Rebekah, Iris is in danger, dont let the Salvatores near Iris, Elena is dead and I believe there going after Iris'' I said quickly

''Elena is dead..'' She said quietly

''Yes, she was murdered but the others are fine, except for Damon and Stefan'' I said 

''Why would they hurt Iris though'' Rebekah asked

''Because all of this mess hass occured because of Iris, thats what they believe in there minds, they blame her'' I said 

''Alright, Ill protect her'' she said 

''You better prepare the others for the news of Elena'' I said 

''I know'' Rebekah said 

''We are on the way'' I said and hanged up

''Damon and Stefan would never...'' Tyler began

''They will do anything now, even hurt Iris'' I said 

''We need to go now'' Jeremy said
