It was morning, it was dimly lit outside but just enough light to see beyond the windows.
Lunar slowly crawled out of her bed, her ribs still in pain from the explosion.
"Crap. Well looks like I'm not working for a while." She murmured to herself.Lunar grabbed her sheathed sword to act as a support for balance, pulling herself up as she gripped the side of her hip. After she had balance she began to hear footsteps within the house, as she silently unsheathed her weapon.
Quickly turning the corner she swung, stopping midway."What the hell?! Where were you?!" Lunar exclaimed. Jay had stopped her blade with his hand, the back of his hand covered with more of the blue scales. He lowered Lunar's sword and grabbed it from her hand, putting it back in it's holster.
"Sorry... I was taking care of something dire, I had to leave right away. I probably should have helped you out first, my bad." Jay responded with a straight face, he handed her sword back to her.
"You alright? Your acting so serious. For a few moments I thought you had gone up and left." Lunar spoke softly, the look on Lunar's face made him worried.
"I'm alright, we probably just have a few thoughts running through our heads right now. So many questions that we don't have the answers to just yet." Jay said gently patting Lunar on the head, giving her some sense of reassurance.
"Wait! What about our Bounty?! Crap! Now we just lost a perfect opportunity for upgrades! What are we going to do?! I need a new sword!" Lunar whined to Jay, grabbing him by the shirt and shaking him back and fourth.
Jay grumbled under his breath, "Didn't you get your sword 5 days ago? You just got a new one! If anything, I need a new set of armor. You decided to "borrow" the set I bought." He said gradually starting to get annoyed from he constant whining.
"Pshhhhh, no! You can't prove that, I'll give it back...eventually.....when it gets worn down. Maybe. Probably...okay maybe not! It's comfortable!" Lunar said hesitantly with a hint of laughter.
Jay chuckled, "Then you won't complain when I get myself some new equipment. We can still get our bounty reward, I'm pretty sure we did our job. From what I heard, the killings have stopped completely in the whole region near Ravenmire. Not even bandit complaints, whatever happened, it scared them away. All we have to do is go collect the reward." He rambled, he took a seat in the chair next to him and rested his head on the table.
"Seriously?! Then why don't I leave in a few days to travel back to Quillston? I'm pretty sure he would be well aware of the news and surely give us our platinum." She suggested to Jay, poking him as he was closing his eyes.
Not long after Jay fell asleep at the table, Lunar lightly put a small blanket over him. Lunar walked over the the window, looking outside she saw a red haired boy leaning against a tree in the distance. She rubbed her eyes, quickly looking back at where the boy was standing. He then calmly walked behind the large tree, disappearing into the forest.
"No way. It can't be..." She mumbled. Lunar knew what she saw, it HAD to be him. Lunar panicked, hastily gearing up. She looked back at Jay to make sure he was still asleep before rushing out the door, tripping over herself and landing on the ground. The citizens around her looked at her with concern, she was causing a commotion in front of them."Are you okay? Do you need some water dear?" A woman said helping Lunar to her feet.
"No, I think I'm fine. Just need....a walk. Yeah...." Lunar said more spaced out than ever. A few tears ran down her face, she smiled lightly before thanking the woman and running off. She cried tears of joy and excitement, she wanted to see him, no matter what. She stopped at where she saw the boy not to long ago, the temperature started to get colder by the minute.
"Solar?! Solar where are you?!" Lunar called, she was spinning in all directions, to see him even for a glimpse.
It was silent, no one called back.
"Solar, please! Say something! Anything!" She continued to cry out. It was silent for a few moments until Lunar heard a faint cry, it had to be him.
"Solar I'm coming!" She yelled, "Don't worry....I'm....here?" Lunar then said with an unsure feeling in her gut.
It was like something was screaming, telling her to run. Another her crying for her to say, slowly dragging her deeper into the forest. Moving branches that hung in her face to the side, taking each step closer and closer to this ominous feeling. As she moved the last tree brach out of her face, she saw the red haired boy sitting in a patch of flowers that lied within the small clearing.
"Solar? Is that, you?" She gulped, her heart was beating, that cold shivering presence returned.
He didn't say anything, only picked petals off of one of the flowers."Solar? Say something! Where have you been? Why did you leave? Why?!" Lunar exclaimed, his silence only made her anger rise.
She slowly walked over to Solar, taking a seat next to him.
"Hey? Can you at least look at me? Its been forever, don't you miss me?" Lunar spoke softly, she leaned over to Solar and hugged him. He hugged her back, tears ran down Lunar's face. Solar was dead cold to the touch, almost freezing.
He seemed to he getting softer, less dense. When she looked at him, pulling away from the hug, it was like he was turning to sand. He gradually disappeared into dust. The pixie took a visible form, giggling and laughing on the ground. Lunar trapped the fairy creature under her boot."Why? Why do these beings play these SICK GAMES WITH ME?! Why do they intend to make me feel like a living hell?! Damn pixies, I'll burn them all!" Lunar thought, a quick snap was heard as she smashed the pixie under her foot. Lunar stayed and sat near the well, looking up, surprising to her it was already the afternoon. In the shade she closed her eyes, dozing off.
