My breath caught in my throat as I struggled to breath. Princess... Why did that sound familiar. I racked my brain for an answer as the strange boy looked down at me. I looked up clutching my heart trying to get my breath steady again. Why did that name bring back memories of my past? All these questions clouded my mind as he kneeled down beside me.
"I know what happened to you, and I want to help be there for you. I'm sorry for having abandoned you all those years ago, but I will never desert you again." I looked at him wondering what on earth he meant. He must've guessed what I was thinking because in the next instant his arms were around me, and I was being pulled into a warm chest by strong arms. I could hear the beating of his heart as his warmth enveloped me.
I closed my eyes slightly and inhaled his some what familiar scent. My body relaxed instinctively, and I leaned further into him. I couldn't understand what was happening, because normally I would be detecting signs of danger. I'm alone, with a boy, in a room that has sound proof walls, and he just took away one of my means of protection, but that still didn't stop me from actually feeling safe.
I sucked in a quick breath and pulled away. I could tell he let go reluctantly. I scooted a little to the left of him, but I was still facing him. I couldn't, wouldn't, let my guard down for some boy who says that he's associated with my past. I took a deep breath before speaking again. "Ok, I have a few questions before you get all comfy and touchy with me."
He nodded and put his hands up in surrender. "I understand. We have all night to talk, so you ask away." I scoffed at him. "Shouldn't you refraise that and say that you have all night, but I have to be up at seven sharp in the morning, and I don't want to get Sensei angry again, as you can see, it doesn't end well." I gestured to my messed up foot that was now turning t a weird shade of purple and bent at an interesting angle.
He gave me a thumbs up, "Toche." I looked deep into his eyes and saw a swirl of blue and forest green. I looked at him more and realized that he didn't look that bad. A strong, firm jaw with flicks of scars here and there, soft looking, messy dirty blond hair that I would think would get beach blond in the summer, strong cheekbones with a childish look hinted in his eyes even though his features are more adultish. I couldn't help but see how toned he was when we first met, and it surprised me.
I could've guessed that he wasn't more than seventeen, maybe eighteen. Even with all of these features, he still looked childish. To be honest, I actually thought he was just a little cute. Just a little. That's it.
"Ok, so first off is how the hell did you get in here?" He leaned back and let out a breath of relief. "That's what you wanted to ask me? Man, I thought it was going to be something like 'where are you from' or 'what do you want to do with me'." He wiggled his eyebrows on the last one and I just gave him the 'shut up' look.
He ran his hand through his hair and looked at the window near the back of the room. He leaned his head backwards and I saw his well defined Adam's apple. "Surprisingly, that window is extremely easy to get into. All I had to do, really, was just unscrew a few bolts on the hinges, and poof, I'm in. These people really should check every detail before actually saying they finished the building. This place has loose bolts everywhere." He lifted his head and faced me again.
He cocked his head to the right, and gave me a impish smile. I felt myself blush, and I quickly looked away. "Ok, so that answered that question, and now hearing it, I don't want to even think how you found that out." He was about to speak when I put my hand up silencing him. "Anyway, my next question to you is why on earth the name 'princess' seems so familiar? I undoubtedly have heard it before, but as to when and where I've heard it is the main question."
