Worst day ever

I woke up on my birthday thinking that I'm going to have a hell of a day, it was Friday 13th and my birthday to boot. "Fuck" I muttered as I got up and started to get dressed. As soon as I walked out of my room I knew something was wrong, my step-mom and my father were staring at me as I started to walk to the kitchen.

"Sit down" My step-mother demanded.

"What, why?" I asked. All I wanted to know is why I was being stared at like that.

Dad just looked at me and said in a quiet voice, "Karl, sit down, we have some very important information that you need to know."

I looked at him and noticed that he looked pale, "OK". I sat down and kept looking at him waiting for him to speak.

"Karl, there are somethings that you need to know since your turning 16 today. One of them is that your not a normal mortal person, you have abilities that exceed anything that any mortal can do." He sighed "There is a family legend that you don't know about and it has to deal with you. Karl, your the heir to Dracula's powers."

I laughed "A vampires powers? Nice one."

He looked at me and started to sigh "Karl, I know you don't believe that kind of stuff, but you should listen to me. This is going to become a big part of your life after today."

I got up, overturning the chair in my haste, "I can't believe that your trying to play a joke on me, on my birthday of all things." I turned and stormed to my room, slamming the door behind me.

I came out ten minutes later dressed in my normal dark clothing, when my dad handed me a bundle and said " I want you to have this"

I looked at it and saw that it was a new jacket, "Thanks", I looked at him and he told me to put it on. As soon as it was on me I felt a little weird, it felt like I was having electricity going through my body.

That was when things started to get weird, a little too weird for my tastes.
