A well manicured, but callused hand dialed the number from memory
"Hello" a curious voice answered
"Is this James Moriarty" a calm voice replied
"Of course it is, what do you want?" Moriarty's voice bordered on impatience, the caller heard a small "Sorry"
It confirmed what the spies had reported.
With a practiced pace, the calm voice answered. "I have the St. Clair Papers"
Moriarty's voice intensified, "Say that again! Then his voice took on a menacing tone, "Say that again and know that if you're lying to me, I will find you and I will skin you."
"The London Eye, thirty minutes"
Moriarty sounded thoughtful, and distant as if he had lowered the phone, "Sorry. Wrong day to die.""Oh. Did you get a better offer?"
That voice, a little more distant, belonged to capstone of this.
Hello, Mr. Holmes
Moriarty voice, still distant: "You'll be hearing from me, Sherlock."
His voice became louder, the phone having returned to his ear, "So if you have what you say you have, I'll make you rich. If you don't, I'll make you into shoes." A loud echoing snap is heard.
"I already plan on being rich, without you, my dear James." The calm voice said. "Do your job, without idle threats"
"You think you can threaten me?" Moriarty asked.
A button push later, Moriarty had his answer. Three photos that would land him a date with the executioner.
The calm voice returned.: "You now have the fifth copy of those photos. I think it would be a shame if the police were to get one of the other four hard copies. Finish your piece of the plan, and I will instruct the guardians, to destroy those files. As a token of good will, I will call The Woman and have her destroy her copy. Mind you, if she is busy, it may be a few hours"
A click was all he heard.
The voice chucked to himself. Over the years he had learned how to manipulate the perception of control. He also remembered that sometimes the best work of a business, was hidden behind the scenes. He brought up his web browser, clicked on a pre-prepared message. A few seconds later the words went out: Project Kipling is a go. Follow your instructions
