"Wait! Why are you running?" he shouted. "Please!"
She finally whipped around, pausing for a moment, taking in this strange boy and his question. A bitter smile tugged at her lips as her ice-blue eyes met his, searching for any trace of falseness in his possibly feigned curiosity. Had he not heard what was happening in the compound? He looked back her, his innocent, desperate brown eyes and furrowed brow answering her unspoken question.
She said wryly, "I'm a Blue."
Then in the blink of an eye, she had pulled open the door and was gone, setting emergency lights flashing and loud sirens blaring. Jace knew it would be only minutes before officials swarmed that hallway. He was faced with a choice, and neither option was desirable. He could stay there and most likely be taken in by the Coordinate for custody and questioning, and afterwards be placed on a watch list for who knows how long, or he could follow the girl. He didn't know where she went, or where she was going, or what in the world a 'Blue' was.
By then, the sounds of footsteps and shouting were loud and getting closer. Jace judged that he had mere seconds, thirty if he was lucky, before they were upon him. He took a deep breath and took his life into his own hands....----Trying my hand at dystopian fiction oops. And writing from a boy's perspective, which I've only tried once and I never got past the first chapter.
So...yeah. Short chapters, I don't have it all planned out so there's no summary for this yet. YET. Sorry.Also, I'm working on the cover. For some reason it's taking me forever to make it.
