It was barely 8 a.m. when Khushi's cellphone rang.
Khushi didn't like being disturbed this early and moreover with her class 12 boards being over, she never woke up before 10, but Khushi had been expecting this call and she jumped up on her bed to take it.
At the other end of the call was the familiar voice of Khushi's dad.
Just from her dad's voice she understood that she was gonna get the good news.
"Khushi!!!!U got admitted!!!",said Mr. Sen in an ecstatic manner.
Though her getting admitted to The Leaders Academy in Pune was no surprise. Khushi had always been an ace student.

She was the topper in her school "Sacred Girls High School" with an aggregate of 97.75 in her boards.

Khushi sprang up in joy, got down from the bed and ran towards the stairs and didn't say a word more before disconnecting the call.
Mr. Sen didn't mind though.
He knew how Khushi was, she was not great at expressing her emotions.
She was what u call an introvert, she never really had much friends - only 1 or 2 really close ones and, having studied in an all girls school and being home tutored, didn't have a single male friend.
Khushi ran down the stairs to give the news to her best friend, Pluto. As soon as she saw Pluto, she kissed him on the cheeks, cuddled him and spoke animately about the news her father had just given her.
Pluto had been Khushi's constant for 6 years now.
She still remembers the day when Khushi's dad brought Pluto for the first time,a small little puppy which was meant to be a birthday present for Khushi on her 13th birthday.
However the merry feeling was not mutual.

Pluto was not in the least interested in what Khushi was blabbering about,he was quite frustrated actually.
In his dream he was just on the verge of kissing the hottest poodle that one could find in the whole of India. However just before their tongues could meet, Khushi woke him up from his reverie.

Now all Pluto craved for was his dog food.
Khushi was quick to understand this. Having been with Pluto for so many years ,they had a cemented an unbreakable. Both could read each other like the back of their palms.

Khushi gave Pluto his food and then tried to remember where she had kept her cellphone after hanging up the call with her dad. She had to call the third most important person in her life after her dad and Pluto.

She finally found her phone lying on her bed. Picking it up she called Naina.

Naina had been her bestie since pre-school, inspite of them being absolute opposites. While Khushi was laid back and spent most of her time alone, Naina was a free-spirited wild child.
She had been blessed with a pretty face and there was a really big line of boys after her. Naina ,the sweet devil that she was, loved the attention that she got from the opposite sex and well , flirting was something that came naturally to her.
She had had a lot of boyfriends in the past but still she knew really well how to stay in her limits. There was a rumour roaming around in the last year of school that Naina had lost her virginity to the football team captain of Saint James school, however Khushi knew what had happened in reality.

The captain was Naina's boyfriend for only 10 days. Once he tried to force himself onto Naina but she was strong enough, both mentally and physically to get out of that tight position. The captain being enraged started spreading rumours about what a colourful time he had had with Naina.

Khushi loved Naina to death and was determined to be beside her through thick and thin and as for Naina, she didn't give a duck about what others thought about her.
She knew that those of who mind don't matter as long as those who matter don't mind.

It was a mystery to everyone how they were besties. They were so far apart. However, maybe the maxim "opposites attract" did hold some truth in reality.

Naina finally picked up the call. Just like Khushi she too had become a late riser after her school life getting over. Before Khushi could speak a word "It should be something damn important for which you just interrupted my beauty sleep you creep!!" came Naina's darting words. Yes Naina called Khushi a creep, not a common nickname but Khushi knew that this name was just a sign of affection and care and so she loved being called a creep.

"Yes nain there is, I just got admitted, OMG can u believe it? Me Khushi Sen will be going to The Leaders Academy, you have no idea how freaking excited I am!!!", Khushi was excited.
" Wow, Congo, now can I go back to sleep ? " came Naina's dull reply.
"No you can't u bitch , get your perfect ass to my house as soon as you can, we are gonna celebrate." Khushi said frustrated at Naina's nonchalant attitude.
Naina was going to say something which was gonna start with a but , however Khushi didn't let her speak and commanded her to to be at her house within an hour.

The Leaders Academy had been Khushi's dream destination since she was 10 years old, the reason being the name that the academy had in producing world class musicians.
And finally she was gonna be there. Her mirth and joy could not be expressed in mere words.
Khushi had been gifted a guitar by her dad on her 7th birthday.
And in these 12 years that musical instrument had become an integral part of Khushi's insignificant life.

Khushi poured some cereals into a bowl and started munching at them when the bell rang. Khushi loved her calling bell tune, it was the title song of her favourite movie " Kuch Kuch Hota Hain" and she would often get lost and engrossed in the tune and people would complain that she took an awfully long time to open the door, but Naina was used to this. After a minute, when Khushi finally opened the door she saw Naina standing there looking pretty in her crop top and skinny jeans.
