Hopping out of my car and heading to the pet shop I quickly strolled to the entrance of the brightly colored building.
I entered the building and was immediately welcomed by my friend Robert who did the usual greeting by giving me a slap on the back.
"Hey Kane, it's nice to see you again, how're your parents?" The older man questioned.
"Thanks! And there doing very good, they've been pestering me to get a companion so here I am!"
He laughed and asked , "What are you looking for?"
"Well, I think I want a human, preferably a girl since I heard they are easier to control and domesticate." He nodded along with my words and strolled over to a metal door, tapping in a combination.
The door made a clicking sound and Robert opened it waving me in. The lights were on and although many of the humans were up and awake there was one at the very back that was snuggled into it's blankets.
"All of the females are at the end if you want to go take a look." He said and stood by my side waiting for what I was going to do.
I walked towards the back and although many of the humans were nice one human caught my attention. Maybe it was because of her weird mane. It was all in huge twists and the color of it was a slight purple which peaked my curiosity even farther than the fact that it had wrapped itself in a cocoon of blanket, and was still asleep.
Her face had very few blemishes and all around she looked very beautiful. I started petting her gently to see if she would wake up and she slowly opened up her eyes to see me. Instead of jumping up and down or acting weird the way humans do, she put her eyes into slits and slightly hissed at me which really took me off-guard.
'Well this is something new.' I thought to myself.
Robert chuckled , a little forcibly, I noticed but still talked about her.
'I don't think this is the first time this has happened.'
"This is number twenty four. As you can tell she's very docile except when she's woken up but if you put her in time out she snaps right out of it." I felt her eyes on me and I turned towards her to see her glaring at Robert which made me chuckle. Her eyes snapped to mine and she cocked her head to the side which made me internally coo at her.
Robert continued to talk about her and said that she likes to sleep which I could obviously see since she had already curled up in a ball and fallen back into her deep slumber. Something about her was attractive slash adorable to me and I knew I had to have her as my pet.
"I'll take her." I said interrupting Robert. He looked surprised but still said that he was very happy for me and that I wouldn't regret my purchase. We woke her up again and she sat straight up looking at us back and forth and then down at her hands.
Robert reached into the pen and picked her up yanking the blanket away from her, to which she started yelling at us in her weird gibberish humans talked in and trying to take the blanket back.
"No, bad girl. No." Robert said and she looked hurt for a second. She whimpered lightly but let Robert hold her.
Robert looked at me smiling and commented, "I guess she doesn't do well with chiding. Keep that in mind, maybe that's enough punishment, some pets are like this."
I nodded. "Let's try it out, this could help me in the future." I replied back. He nodded back and said,
"No. Bad girl. Bad girl, no." She looked at us with confusion and tears could be seen in her eyes. She looked anywhere but us, and you could see guilt written across her face even though she hadn't done anything.I felt my heart wrench a little and I took her from Roberts hands cooing at her and telling her it was okay, even though I'm pretty sure she couldn't understand anything I was saying. She sniffles but let me hold her slightly leaning into my chest.
Robert handed me a collar first which I put around her neck and she looked at me questionably but didn't move.
I then put on the leash and set her on the floor. Her mane fall down to the middle of her back and she wobbled slightly on her feet but soon steadied herself. I tugged on the leash slightly and started walking hoping she would know what to do.
We made it to the check out counter where I head to put in my contact information. After about thirty long minutes we left the pet shop where I now had my first human.
