CHAPTER 1: A new beginning

Hi my name is Shaun it was finally the time, the time to get my starter Pokemon and start my journey! I turned 10 years old just a month ago but feels like yesterday. I have been planning ahead on what my starter would be, it was squirtle because he looked appealing and I really want a blastoise even though most people in my town wants a charizard. So here I go, my mom hands me my bag and emphasizes to always change my underwear every day, embarrassed I walk to professer Oaks lab. When I reached the lab I saw a younger version of professer oak he introduced his name as Ethan Oak. I could have sworn that wasn't his real name but I called him that and he went along with it. We soon became rivals knowing that we both wanted to be the best of the best. And then a last minute trainer short with ginger colored hair walked in he introduced himself as James. Not far from him was a tall strange looking boy that looked 13 instead of 10 and he said his name was Karl. Karl already appeared to have his starter Pokemon which was a bulbasaur.. James exclaimed,"Nice to meet you all!" With a quick response Karl says in a sarcastic voice," You newbie I've been on my journey for 2 months now."Proffeser oak walks in and says,"Now now settle down kids, I'd like you to meet my new assistant Cidney." Cidney carrying 3 pokeballs trips over nothing and falls face down. Everyone laughs except James he rushes in and helps her up. Proffeser oak picks up the pokeballs and releases the Pokemon within them Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle(my choice)."Shaun, James, and Ethan which starter would you guys like."James exclaims,"Charmander!"Ethan smiles with a smirk and says, "Bulbasaur." I with a confident tone say,"Squirtle." He handed us each our Pokemon including 5 pokeballs and a brand new pokedex. Proffeser oak then says," So Karl why are you back here so soon." Karl responds," I was just coming back for a little rest and check out my competition." So we all set off for our journeys knowing we will meet again.
