[ Advice and Surprises ]

Evanna turned to face Fred, who she was annoyed with, as she had told him that she didn't want to talk about why she was crying, and yet he kept nagging her about it."So you want to know?" She asked, stepping closer. "Well, if you must, I was crying because today is not only my thirteenth birthday, but it's the thirteenth-year anniversary of when my parents died. So, I hope you can see why I wouldn't want to talk about it." She snapped, walking away.
Fred was left there, feeling guilty.
You're an idiot. He thought to himself. He should have respected that she didn't want to talk about it... He figured there'd be something he could do to make her feel better, but that's not the case here.
"Hey Freddie!" Said George, walking by him on his way to the common room.
"Hey."
"What's wrong?"
"I'm felling guilty about something."
"Wanna talk about it?"
"Sure."
They entered the common room, and Fred began to tell George how he felt.
"So, I don't think you noticed but Evanna looked as though she had been crying earlier..."
"Oh, I noticed."
"You did? Why weren't you concerned?"
"Of course I was concerned, but I never asked her about it because I figured she wasn't telling us for a reason."
Fred sighed. "Well... I kept asking her why, because I wanted to help... I didn't realize how much I was pestering her about it and.. When she told me, I understood why she didn't tell me in the first place."
George thought for a moment. "Honestly, mate, I don't know what to say. You should apologize later tonight, I'm sure she'll forgive you."
Fred nodded his head. "Yeah, thanks, Georgia."
The other twin rolled his eyes. "Ugh, not you too!"
Evanna made her way to the astronomy tower. She didn't know how she felt in that moment- it was a mixture of frustration, sadness, and guilt. She was annoyed at how Fred wouldn't mind his own business, but she knew he was only trying to help, making her feel bad. This whole thing made her upset- and her tripping on a step didn't help the dilemma.
She looked up to see Professor Lupin extending a hand for her to take. She took it, and pulled herself up from the ground.
"Thank you, Professor." She said, dusting off her clothes.
"No problem. Where are you going with your school work? It's your birthday!" He said, noticing her Star Chart in her hand.
"Oh... I just need to think a few things over. I've never been too fond of my birthday, anyway." She replied with a sigh.
"Well, I know just how to make you feel better." He said, grabbing something from his pocket. "Chocolate?"
Evanna laughed. "Thanks."
