It is cold winter outside, the blizzard's worsening and all I can think of are gingerbread that my mom used to make every Christmas. But I don't think this year would be that fun, mom and dad are always busy is solving the district's problems.
It was months ago when the Second Civil War broke out, all the empires has rebelled againts it's emperors and empresses that resulted the separation of the two empires - Aleutian and Tiny-Canada. Widespread hunger and deprivation was felt on almost empires except Kaput and Columbia Empire - the place where I live.
I get up from my bed and walk towards the balcony, and sit on the cold, metal chair beside the door. The snow doesn't fall on the balcony because our house, or mansion is shielded with a forcefield that I cannot see nor hear but I can feel a spark whenever I come near it. I stare at the falling snow outside the forcefield for awhile, and in the corner of my eyes, I see Chevy, my little brother standing at the door.
I glance at him. "Chevy." I say. "What are you doing here?" He walks toward me and hug me. He rest his head on my lap for some time. 'What's wrong?" I ask warmly. "Mommy and daddy are fighting." Not again. They always fight.
Mom and dad are in the study room, dad is sitting on his brown, lush chair and mom is standing right of him, shouting. "Christopher! Listen to me! You are not going to Brooklyn District, do you hear me. That place is crawling with rebels that might kill you anytime!" Brooklyn District is just a few miles away in our mansion and my dad is the mayor of that district. "Your children needs you Christopher. I need you." Mom says desperately.
Dad glances at mom and he narrow his eyes. "Lesilla, I have a responsibility to the district. I must do it." Dad says. Mom clenches her fists that it looks like she wanted to punch dad right in the face, but she calms down. "So you're telling that your governance is more important than us?" says Mom. "If that's the case, we'll leave." Oh no, I don't want to.
Mom looks in my direction and sees me, I can see in her eyes that she's belligerent. "Chresilla, you and Chevy pack your bags, we're leaving." I wanted to cry but mom will be more angry. I ran upstairs and tell my brother to pack, at first he doesn't want to but I just told him that this will all go away, after the problem's resolved. Hopefully.
Dad doesn't stop mom and us from leaving, I hated him when he did that. What kind of father is he? We're now at the car and Phoenics, our butler is driving the car to White City - The main city of Columbia Empire. In my right is my baby sister Chelina and to my left is Chevy who is asleep and tired from crying, he did not want to leave dad alone but we had no choice.
Mom's in front, crying aswell and her eyes fixed outside, where it's all endless snow. "Mrs. Chase, the road going to White City is extirpated, there are no other routes. We'll have to make a stop at Brooklyn District." says Phoenics. Oh no, not there. Mom looks at Phoenics abruptly, probably shocked - like me. "Oh my God, Let's just go back." says Mom, terrified. "We can't Mrs. Chase. The GPS will die anytime now and the snow's thick. The nearest we can go is Brooklyn District." Says Phoenics. "Okay. But where can we stop? Somewhere safe?" I really don't know if any of the place are safe in there. "We can stop at Mayoral Safe House." says Phoenics.

It took us about two and half hours to finally reach the Mayoral Safe House, we had to avoid the hotspots and the dens of the rebels that are scouring the city. The safe house is empty, but luckily there's still power and the water's clean. Phoenics directs us to Mayoral Suite, twelve floors below the ground. Riding the express elevator makes me nauseous and dizzy. The suite is actually nice, the sofas are plush and the floor is covered with fuzzy, white wool.
In the center of the suite lies the seal of the Columbia Empire which is well-lit by the lime lights surrounding it. "We'll stay for a bit, until the war has been resolved." says Mom. I hug her and take Chevy and Chelina to the room close to the elevator. I put down Chelina to the large bed in that has fantastic bed frames. It's good that she's asleep, she's not comfortable on staying at other places. She just like her crib at our house.
Chevy sits on the recliner and relaxed his head on the backrest. I just lie down on the bed and think about dad, Inside my heart, I want to forgive him but what he did is really irritable. My mom walks in the room, shattered and crying, she's talking to someone in her phone - dad. "Christopher. We're here at Brooklyn. We had no choice." Says mom, then there's a long silence, I guess dad is talking. "No! Don't come after us! It's dangerous, we were just lucky. Never of this wouldn't happen if you weren't so selfish!" Then my mom hangs up, angry. She walk towards me and lies besides me. "I'm sorry darling that this has to happen." Then she wrap her arms around me and I drift to sleep.

Loud gunshots wake me from my sleep. I jolt up to see what's happening. Mom, Chelina is not here. And Chevy is deeply asleep. I walk towards the door slowly, shaking, terrified. I press my ear againts the door to hear what's happening. I hear someone talking, it's a man with a raspy voice. "Mayor Chase, say adios to the world" then a loud bang from the gunshot booms. Oh my God. I quickly lock the door and ran behind the recliner and tears starts to stream down my face. I try to calm myself by singing the song my always sing for me.
Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound.
I don't calm down instead, I cry more and more until Chevy hears me. "What's wrong Chresilla?" I glance at him, crying. "Dad's dead" I say. He just stares at me for some time and he bursts out crying aswell. "Be quiet though, the killer is inside this safe house. Hide under the bed." I order. Chevy obeys and he quickly goes under the bed.
I once again proceed to the door and listen on what's happening. This time a woman is talking. "Find the girl, with the blond hair and the boy. I want them to see how their mother and little sister die." Oh my God, please make it stop. I hear footsteps getting closer and closer and it reaches our door. Oh God. Before he or she can manage to destroy the door, I hear dozens of gun shots again, Mom! The silence sweeps in and the golden door knob moves."Whoever's inside, This is the Imperial Guards, we came to rescue you."
The guards! They're here! I pull Chevy from under the bed and we ran to the doors. A tall man in an army suit stands. We're saved. "Let's go" he says. We walk to the foyer silently, the closer we get to the center, where the seal, the more blood there is. And in front of the seal lies three bodies.
My Mom whose chest is planted with an axe, Dad, who has a gunshot right on his left eye, Chelina, Oh she's too young. Whose throath is split open. My jaw drops and tears epcapes my eye. "Mom! No!" I yell, then I fall into my knees and cry out as much as I can. "Loriana and Annvero killed the mayor." says the guard, talking to someone through his walkie-talkie.
The medical team arrived and Me and Chevy has been taken custody by the Imperial family. What has happened to the world? It seems like humanity has been eradicated by the selfishness and we forget that we were born to make the world prosper. Hatred and anger grew inside me and I will carry it until I find justice to my family, I promise myself, I will kill the anarchist.
THE END
