Her voice filled the room, bursting through the closed door and down the empty hall. The rusty, static sound of the old wooden and brass record player followed close behind it. The sounds sent chills down the backs of the listeners. They both stood silent, hesitant and fearing to make another step.

"This is?" she asked him in a soft whisper, voice shaky.

The sounds continued to travel behind them just to bounce off the empty walls and echo back to them, striking their souls. The voice was beautiful in a soft yelp that seemed as though it should've been innocent. It grew, not in power, but into a silent shriek. The static tune stayed close behind it, sounding older, if that were possible.

He nodded quickly. "This is it." He spoke positively but trembled inside.

One step followed by another sent them closer to the hall, leading to the room where she'd be.

The young, porcelain voice shook, but didn't die. It grew louder the closer they got. Staying soft. Even when her voice roared somehow keeping a sweet tone.

The two listeners stood in front of the closed door, struggling to stay on their feet from the power of the song coming from the room in front of them. Out of nowhere, it was as if she was punching everything from the walls to the floor to the ceiling of the room while her voice and the song stayed in place, not moving. It was strong. There was a hit at the door making the listeners jump back from surprise. Fear was already over taking them.

The girl grabbed her partner's hand. "Are you ready?" she finally asked after about an eternity of waiting in the hall.

He squeezed her hand. "Yes." he answered slowly but with confidence.

They both reached their hands out to the door knob in front of them slowly before the door pounced out at them, making them jump again. Their hands stayed interlocked.

While the hits became more vicious, the song became screams, as if she was being crushed, screaming for help.

He looked down at the girl after she started to crush his hand more than before. She was hunched over, shaking, with tears falling to the broken ground beneath them.

"It's too late now." he began after pulling her in to a hug, sounding apologetic. "We've come too far." he whispered, pressing his nose on her head as the noises  from the behind the door began to calm.

"Please-" she asked between a quiet sob, trembling. "let's leave." she looked up, revealing her now puffy eyes.

He sighed, pressing her against his chest. "I'll keep you safe. I promise."

He turned slowly after the intense noises seemed to have stopped. All that was left was the old rusted tune and a soft hum.

His hand landed on the door knob once again as he grasped it quickly. He jerked his wrist, turning the handle and pushing the door open.

"We're here, Beth." he spoke loudly after marching in. "We got you."

He scanned the room quickly, not able to find the girl.

The empty white room was turning grey with age and black with mold. Overall, the room wasn't falling apart like the rest of the deserted building. The only thing the room carried was the old record player, its music now skipping, doubling the static.

The partners' hands were still locked together although she was still standing in the hallway behind him. A quiet laugh sent chills down his spine, like spiders crawling down his back, piercing his backbone with each of their steps. It wasn't coming from in front of him or beside him, but behind him in the hall. His partner started to crush his hand again, only harder than ever.

"Silly boy." the girl behind him laughed, digging her nails into his hand like claws. "You could've left. You should've left." she raised her other hand to above his neck, bringing him down to her eye.

She lifted her face to reveal the puffiness in her eyes were gone, along with the tears. Her brown hair was still in a pony tail, her bangs in her face. Her emerald green eyes burned as they sank his. Her mouth was grinning and it didn't seem as thought it would fade.

"You just had to find me." she whisper, leaning in closer.

"No." he whispered quietly.

"Because you still love me, don't you?" she whispered with her fierceful smile. "Too bad." she lost concentration from his eyes as her focus fell down to his nose, lips then chin until her eyes finally closed.

Suddenly, her eyes shot open, black, and her grin somehow grew larger.

"You just had to say good-bye." she continued. "Guess it's my turn." she bit his bottom lip, letting out a sweet, piercing giggle. It echoed down the hall and struck his soul, like the song did earlier.

"No." he whispered again as his eyes began to tear up, mesmerized by the darkness in her eyes.

She made her mouth wide, and smacked it against his. It would seem as though she kissed him passionately when really, it wasn't leading to anything good. A tear fell down his cheek. He knew it would be the last thing he'd do. He seen her work before.

Her mouth opened wider, making her bottom row of teeth reach down to his chin while her top teeth were under his nose. Her teeth bit in to his flesh, only enough to pierce. She inhaled, sucking up some blood and what one would see as fog but they were both aware it was the death of him.

She popped her head back fast, mouth full. He fell to his knees and then to the ground.

With a gulp and giggle, she took her hair out of a pony tail, letting the brown fall to the ground and the blonde come. She blinked away the black to show off her ocean blue eyes. "Good soul." she laughed, looking down at his lifeless body. "Not all pure though. Huh." she shrugged it off.

She dusted off the clothes of her new body, before looking back at the corpse.

"Well, good-bye." she smiled.

She danced down the hall, humming the same song as before. From the end of the hallway, she yelled back  "My name's Bethany, by the way."

His body was lifeless, his lips and mouth bleeding as his eyes turned white. His partner's body was possesed and gone. The record player continued to play it's tune.

Beth was gone.
