"Excuse me," you tap the stranger's shoulder, figuring that maybe that person was someone who might be able to help, due to the fact that he had a similar uniform as you did. When you received no reply, you tapped the person's shoulder again, this time a little bit harder.
"Um... excuse me?" you repeated, your voice rising higher at the last word. You had just moved in recently and although you had been given a tour around the town by your neighbor the previous week, you immediately forgot the night before where your new school was located and had been frustrated with yourself ever since. Well, until you met this person that is.
Now, all the frustration and annoyance that had been for yourself was now directed at him.
Seeing a person in the rather deserted road you were wandering in had served as a ray of hope for you to get directions. You didn't expect for your beacon of hope to be some apparently deaf and absent minded guy who clearly had no consideration for lost people at all. You've been trying to catch his attention for several minutes and all attempts had failed miserably, all with the same effect: nothing. No matter how loud your voice was, no matter how hard you seemed to poke, and no matter how annoyed and confused you seemed to be, the stranger still refused to snap out of his blank stare, slowly draining every drop of hope you had left.
"Hello?" you tried once again, this time waving your hand directly in front of the person's face, desperate for some sort of recognition of another human being in his presence to be shown in his expression. When your attempt had failed once again, all you could do was let out a sigh and continue to march forward, hanging on to the thought of finding the campus through sheer luck and an iron will.
"So much for hope", you sighed, stealing one last glance at the still figure before continuing forward, disappointment leaving marks on the dirt road behind you.

"Late! And on the first day, too!" your teacher scolded you as you hung your head low, embarrassed to be in trouble on the first day.
Was it really your fault that you couldn't find where the road leading to Karasuno was?
The answer was plain simple: partly. If only you hadn't forgotten where it was, if only that stranger had been able to give you directions, maybe— just maybe— you wouldn't have to be stuck in detention after school, helping your homeroom teacher photocopy schedules and notices.
"—and I expect you to fully cooperate with another student who, like you, was late by an hour! Do you understand, [Y/N]?" your teacher concluded and you nodded absentmindedly, staring at the spot where his wig was falling off.
"I said, do you understand?" he repeated again, snapping you out of your trance.
"Um... sensei, your wi—" you started but was cut off.
"For the last time, [Y/N], do you understand?" he asked once more, his tone rising higher and higher at each word.
"Y-yes, sensei!" you replied, forcing your eyes to move from his shiny bald head and meet his eyes.
"Good," he nodded, walking off. As he passed an open window, the breeze blew off the toupee on his head, making some students point and laugh. Noticing this, the old teacher turned tomato red and shut the window, glaring and yelling at each and every student in the corridor, as if they were the reason why the wind blew.
