Hope (L x Reader)

Old friends

All we have to do is wait until we find Light.

"It's happened all so fast." I said quietly
L hugged me and nodded.
"I didn't think I'd see you again. I thought that one of us would of died."

"Don't worry. I would never let that happen. I promised I wouldn't leave you and you promised me." I said with a smile.
He nodded and we both sat on the couch.

Wait...what happened to the other Wammy kids?

"I need to ask you something."
I said abruptly. He looked at me.
"Go ahead." He said.
"What happened to William and Beyond?"

L's face fell. "L?"
"You're not going to like this." He said.
"Tell me!"

He took a deep breathe.
"William wasn't his real name. His detective name was A. He was supposed to be a successor of mine but he couldn't handle all the stress and he..."

"He what?"
"..."
"L come on!"

"He took his own life."

(I put A into this story lmao)

I gasped. "No..." L nodded.
"A-and Beyond?" I stuttered.
L's pale face had lost any color remaining.
"The words are unspeakable...the most I could do is show you." He muttered.

We walked out of the room and got into a taxi. L said nothing the whole way.
We stopped at a dark alleyway and the taxi stopped and the driver let us out.

"You're crazy goin here but it's yer choice." He said. Then he drove away.
L took my hand and we walked to a large metal building that was guarded by multiple police guards.
We walked up and they immediately let L in.
I followed him.

We went into a dimly lit room and he went up to talk to the person in the front desk. Before I knew it we were in an elevator going down to the lowest floor.

Time skip.

We finally made to the last floor and stepped through. The lights were dimly lit and I noticed that all the cells were empty. All except one.
"Stay behind me." He whispered.

I did as I was told. We made it to the last cell and there laid Beyond on the ground in a black prison suit.

"Beyond." Said L coldly.
"Lawliet." Said Beyond coldly.
They were almost identical except...Beyond had red eyes. I moved to L's side.
"Hmm?"

Beyond drew closer. We were nose to nose. He gave me a crooked smile.
"(Y/n)!" He said enthusiastically.
"Don't hurt her." L said.
He rolled his eyes. "Let her in."
L tugged me away. I said nothing.
I really missed Beyond.

"(Y/n) you'll understand. You're more like me after all.."
He said as he looked into my eyes and smirked.
I said nothing. L turned his head into my direction. "Should I?"
I nodded. "I'll be fine." He turned to Beyond.

"I'll kill you with my bare hands of you hurt her." Beyond cackled.

"You think I'd hurt my only friend? Pathetic. Now let her in." L hesitated but slowly put his hands on the handle.

He opened it and Beyond quickly pulled me in and shut the gate. He grinned and locked it from the inside.
"Y-you locked her in..." L said angrily
as he tried to open the door.

"I don't trust you." Beyond said as he smirked. L rattled on the handle.
"Beyond." He hissed. Beyond pulled me into a hug and smiled. "I missed you (Y/n). I'd like to speak with you privately."
L rattled again on the handle.

"I'm not leaving you two alone. I'll never tr-"
"It will be ok." I said quietly.
He took a deep breathe.
"Fine. But I'm checking up on you every few minutes minutes."
"Fair enough." Sighed Beyond and he let go of me.

"Now leave."

L slowly backed up and walked out of the room.
Beyond turned back to face me and tackled me to the ground.
"Beyond!" He had been hugging me tight.

"I missed you a lot (Y/n)."
I hugged him back and he sat up and pulled me onto his lap.
"Want some jam?"
"Some WHAT?" I asked confusedly.
"Never mind."
"Beyond what happened!? Why are you here in this..." I looked around.

"Creepy prison?"
He smirked.
"Ever hear of the Los Angeles Murder case?"
I nodded. "Yeah. What about it?"
"That was me. I'm the worlds worse criminal."

He laughed but I didn't try to move.
Although I was a little creeped out I felt calm.
"You're not bothered by this?" He asked curiously. I shook my head.
"I trust you." He gave me a smirk of surprise and L walked in to check on us. He looked suspicious but left again.

I hugged Beyond tighter.
"I'll have to leave soon." I mumbled.

"Are you my friend?"
I was slightly surprised by this sudden question. I nodded and smiled. "I'll always be."

I took out a book from my pocket and handed it to him.
"What's this?" He asked.
"Something so you're not always bored."

(Omfg It's not the death note)

He stared at it. "Thanks." He said. I smiled as I read the shock on his face.

I hugged him tighter for another second but then stood up.
"I'm sorry Beyond. I must leave."
He sighed. "I understand. Come back."
I nodded and opened the door and quickly shut it trying not to let Beyond out. L came in and scurried over to me.
"Ready to leave?" He asked. I nodded.

I waved back to Beyond and he waved back at me as he scowled at L.

Time skip.

We made it back to the hotel room and as I sat down on the couch L bombarded me with questions.
"What happened?" He asked.

I told him everything.
"You're still friends!?"
"It's personal..." I mumbled.
The phone rang and L answered.
"Hello, this is Light."
L said nothing.

"I've just witnessed your weakness. Come back to the prison or else (Y/n) will say goodbye to Beyond."
My ears perked up.
"You have an hour to get there.
Make a wise decision."

I left you guys on a cliff hanger! (Not that you'd care anyways...)
I've been so tired and sick lately...I haven't been bothered to edit any of my chapters Lmaoo
