You walked through the dark woods, holding onto the straps of your backpack. The wind blew through your hair, giving you a slight chill. You stare down to your shoes, trying to rethink the past things that had happened to your life.

It was hard to take everything in at once.

You've been walking for 3 days. You camped during the night, and ventured during the day. You didn't have a destination, just the desire to live. Although this night, you didn't camp just yet. You felt that your feet could take you further, and you weren't missing any steps.

You kept walking, letting out a distressed sigh, breaking the silence the forest provided. The only things you could hear were your footsteps against the grass, and the crickets singing their songs. You look up, trying to forget some things and shake up your head.

"Where am I even going?" You mumble to yourself. "To where your heart leads you (y/n), to where your heart leads you" your conscience seemed to reply.

You whistled a small tune, as you tried your best to relax. But your whistling only reminded you of a song your mother used to sing to you. You stopped, the memories rushing back. Instead you shook it off, knowing it won't do any good right now.

As you kept walking, you hear footsteps from behind you. You kept up your pace, not bothering to look back. But as you moved faster, so did the thing that seemed to follow you. You started running. You ran faster, still hearing the footsteps.

They started sounding louder, and more and more closer.

You had enough. You weren't gonna run. You took out your word and swung it all around, eyes shut, afraid of what might be after you. You opened one eye, looking in front of you. Nothing.

You opened both eyes, looking around you. No one was there. Confused, you walked around a little. But still, you failed to see anyone, or anything in sight.

What was I running from?

You felt a cold rush of air, blowing your hair to one side. You gasped, hearing a short 'woosh' sound. "Weird" you say, giving a confused look. "I prefer the word strange" you hear a deep voice say. You looked around, yet saw no one.

"Wh-who's there?!" You yell, your sword held high, ready to battle. "There's no need for that, cupcake" the voice said. Your expression changed, hearing the word 'cupcake'.

"Who are you calling cupcake? Show yourself!" You demanded. The mysterious voice only laughed. "You're a pretty girl, you know that?" He replied.

"I've been told" you say as your response, looking around and holding onto your sword tightly. "I think I'd like to know you" the voice whispered into your ear, causing you to be highly annoyed.

"ENOUGH" You scream and turn around, pointing you sword to whatever was in front of you.

You were surprised to see that what stood there, was a boy.

He looked like he was your age, at least he seemed like it. He had pale, and grey-ish skin. Crimson dark hair, flannel colored long sleeve shirt, and a smirk plastered to his face.

Your sword was pointed to his neck, you could've killed him right there. But instead, he smiled, raised his brow, and slowly put the sword away from his neck.

"Y-you. . ." you trailed off, still a little surprised. You didn't expect seeing a boy in the middle of the woods.

"I'm what..?" He asked, raising his brow in question. As. You stood there, speechless, he simply laughed. "Well aren't you a little adventurous girl?" He spoke.

"Uhh. . "

"Speechless?" He laughed "you ain't seen nothing yet"

You gave him a curious look. What did he mean? "You're not human, are you?" You say, pointing your sword to ground. He smiled then floated, causing you to jump. He only laughed.
"Ohh, you're so cute"

he floated into a position in which he seemed to be lying down. He placed his hands behind his head, eyes closed, and relaxed as he floated around you. "Wh-what are you then?" You asked him, now being slowly afraid.

He opened his mouth and pointed to his fangs. You were startled, yet you didn't move. You simply said; "you're a vampire"

He nodded with a smile. You slowly backed away. "Don't worry pumpkin, I don't like the taste of blood"

"Oh? What do you feed on then?"
You reply, still uncertain

He flew to a nearby bush and picked a rose. You grew more confused. The rose was as red as blood, quite a lovley shade of red. He sucked the color out with his fangs. You stood there, quite amazed. "Mhm, amused?" He says. You gave him a raise of an eyebrow.

"Oookay. . " you reply. Slowly putting your sword away. "I trust you"

"Good" he says, scooping you up and taking you into his arms.

You shut your eyes and yelled. You were basically about 20 feet above the ground, and you were getting higher and higher. You kept yelling, but then he stopped. You slowly open your eyes. And they grew wider, seeing the stars which shimmered.

"When I'm up here, I just feel so. . .free" The vampaire stated, taking a deep breath, and exhaling. "This, is amazing" you could only simply say, staring at the moon which looked like it was only a few feet from you.

After your little moment, you floated down, and the vampire let go of you softly. You looked up at him, eyes full of amazement. You never knew that such a monster could be so. . different.

"What is your name" you say softly. "He looked down at you and smiled. "Marshall Lee, but call me Mr. Dream guy"

"Psshh" you say, pushing his face away from you. "(Y/n)" you say, he took your hand and shook it. "Pleasure to meet you" you complement, causing him to reply; "I know, it always is" he winks.

You started walking away, determined to continue your journey to wherever. Marshall then followed you, floating. "Where you going?" He asks, you looking over him. "I don't know"

"That sounds like a dumb answer. ." he says.

"Look, you are such a blast. I like you, alot, but sadly, I have to go"

"Once again I ask, where?"

"To where my heart leads me?" You seemed to question your answer. "I gotta keep going. .."

Marshall shook his head slowly. "Well, to where your heart leads you to then, ma'am" he saluted. You could only smile. "Hope to see you around, Vampire" you tease.

"Same with you adventurer. . ." he said. He didn't move from where he was, but you walked away from him. You turned around to give him a small wave of goodbye.

"See you around. . . . ."
