Chapter 23: Welcome, Shane

I stared at the runway with huge aircrafts. The weather changed and became dark and cloudy. I am more comfortable in this kind of weather. I glanced at Troy. He looked at his watch and looked so serious. He's bored. Then a woman spoke and informed everyone that the plane had arrived. I felt excitement run over my body, Shane will be here with me soon.

The glass door slid open and the passengers walked out. I saw Shane rushing over me as soon as she met my gaze. She hugged me so tight and I hugged her back. She trimmed her hair a bit and colored it a bit reddish, and it used to be blonde before. I let go of her.

"You're blooming, Shane", I said. Her reddish hair suits her.

I smiled at her. "Look who's talking", she said and hugged me again. I giggled. She looked at Troy with a surprised face. Troy pulled Shane's bag and put it at his side. She looks very surprised at what Troy did. She never saw me with a guy. Never.

"Oh, who is he Audy?", she whispered. I giggled.

"I almost forgot. Shane this is Troy and Troy this is Shane.", I said and they shake hands.To be honest, I don't know how to introduce Troy to Shane. There's so many things to explain.

"Hey.", Troy greeted. He let out a fake yet beautiful warm smile to her. Shane turns a light red and nods.

"Audy is he your boyfriend?" Shane asked with a curious look.

"I uhmm--" "Yes I am. I'm glad to finally meet you, Shane.", Troy said, cutting my line.

She looked so shocked about it. I can't blame her for that, I never introduced a guy to her. I'm always with girls and never with boys. He's not just my boyfriend, he's my mate? oh whatever. Should I say that? But judging from our relationship right now it's almost the same.

"Oh God. Is this real? My precious best friend finally had a boyfriend? It's a miracle!", she gasped. She doesn't need to say that! Ugh!

"Why?you mean I'm Audrey's first?", Troy asked. He's gaze met mine then to Shane again. Shane nodded.

"You are! She never went out with a guy. Never. I mean she's not ugly, but she always dumps them and sometimes punches them. And one time she kicked--", I covered her mouth.

"Hey! Shane doesn't spread those weird throwbacks to others! It's embarrassing" I said. "But he's not just anyone. He's your boyfriend. The most fortunate one", she pointed out. Troy laughed so hard when he heard of the term 'fortunate' that somehow made me embarrassed.

"Ugh. I'm tired let's go home now, Troy." I said rubbing my hand on my forehead. He nodded and carried Shane's baggage to the car. She gasped when she saw the car.

"Is that the car we were riding?", she whispered.

"Yes it is." I whispered back.

"What happened? Did you manage to seduce a Mafia guy or something. You better tell me!" she hissed.

"No! That's not it. I will explain later." I replied.

Troy gestured his hand and opened the door for me and at the middle part while Shane sat next to him. He used to never talk to other girls but he's talking to Shane? It's giving me weird feelings. He even put her on the front seat!

. "So, Shane, tell me more about my sweetheart's past, will you?", Troy said to Shane. Oh now I know the purpose of the seating arrangement! I knew it. It was on purpose.

"Of course. But, first when did your love story begin? hmm? week? a month?", she asked.

"Ten years I guess.", Troy said. I facepalmed myself. That is too soon! I want to explain it personally but since we are here I can't do anything about the situation. I'm already stuck.

"Is that your plan? Ask her while I'm sitting here at the back so I won't interrupt the two of you?" I asked. I'll consider this annoying. How could you wicked Troy?!

"More or less. I'm just curious." he said, looking at me by the mirror.

"Ten years?! That's like forever." Shane commented. "Why didn't you tell me about this?" She asked me.

"You didn't try to ask me anything about love life because you know I don't have any. I did not hide it. You simply didn't ask."I shrugged'

"That's cheating Audy, let him be. I won't talk too much promise.", she said

"Do as you please." I answered and closed my eyes. I want to sleep.

They both looked at each other. I got a bad feeling about this. Why is it that they get along that fast I mean it's the first time they met. I have an idea. Maybe, because they have the same agenda.

"Your relationship lasted ten years? I haven't met Audy back there.", she said. Ugh. And here they began.

"Yup. Now, what kind of a student is she?", Troy asked. Why does he want to know about those things? Can he just ask them personally? Or is it because I am always pushing him away when he comes close to me.

"Well she's an honor student loved by all teachers. I met her at the library when we were in second year. She's interested in those things, science. But I'm not certain about it, 'cause her room has its own library. Well, she's a member of a volleyball team, but not joining tournaments 'cause she's so busy at paperwork and it's more of a hobby. She always eats at the corner of the canteen, on her favorite seat. If you sat on her chair? get ready to get kicked. So if you value your life move out." she said and chuckled. That's not that serious. She's really exaggerating stuff.

Troy laughed. What is so funny? that's me, but the seat part is kind of exaggerated. I only kicked a person once. "What about her crushes? Does she have one?", he asked.

Oh no! Not that topic please! "Yes. Only one, but Audy won't allow me to talk about it. It's private.", she said. What a relief. That question is off limits. That huge crush on someone is a huge epic fail.

"Why?", Troy asked.

"I uhm.. will you mind asking another question? Audy will kill me." Shane said. I'm grateful that she values her life.
