A sleepless night with Dan

chapter 4

Dan's p.o.v.

I woke up with an annoying beeping noise to my right and delicate snores to my left. I turned my head to see who was snoring and let out a gasp in amazement which Immediately turned into a gasp of pain. My ribs were painful and every breath hurt. In a reflex I clenched my hand and Phil woke up. Apparently we were holding hands.

"Are you okay Dan?" He asked concerned, releasing my hand. "Sort of... will you be my boyfriend?" I croaked, not able to contain my feelings any longer. "I-I...." Phil stuttered. He took a deep breath and answered my question : "Yes, I would like to be your boyfriend." Tears were welling up and I started to cry. "Are you crying?" He asked confused. "Yes I am crying, but those are tears of joy. I-I just love you so much Phil"

At that moment the nurse came in. "Hello darling. My name is Carissa. How are you feeling?" She asked me. "I am feeling quite okay but my head and ribs just hurt." I whined.

"That is quite possible. You have 3 broken ribs, your skull is slightly damaged and your left leg was completely shattered. The doctors could barely save it." She said. I let that sink in. My hand automatically reached to my head. Bandages where wrapped around it and I lifted the covers up. My left leg was covered in plaster all the way up to my thigh.

"At least tell me that elf-skinned maggotpie got caught." I grumbled thinking of how the blue car was being chased by cops. "I'm sorry Dan. He committed suicide by crashing into a building not long after he hit you." Phil told me. I moved my head, ever so slightly, to look at him and immediately groaned.

"Darling, do you need more painkiller? You look pale." Carissa asked me. My pride urged me to stay strong but my pain told me to give in. "Yes I would like some painkiller." She walked out of the room and after a few minutes she got back with a small injection.

She put it in the infusion in my right hand and I immediately fell asleep. "Goodnight Phil Lester, l love you."
