Chapter 1
I looked out the window. We were passing through a green and golden landscape. The sun slowly made its way downwards. I was alone in the train compartment. For an unknown reason, every single student that passed me didn't even look at me. As if I didn't exist. Well, that was about to change, sooner rather than later.
After another half an hour, the train pulled to a stop at the station in Hogsmeade. I waited until everyone got out. I didn't want to meet anyone until it was absolutely necessary. By the time I exited the train, nighttime had fallen and there was no one on the platform. So, I grabbed my small backpack and headed towards the gates. By the time I got there, a professor was greeting the last students, a blond girl and a dark-haired boy. I waited until they left to get in.
"And you are?" asked the professor, holding a quill and a parchment.
"I believe professor Dumbledore informed you about me. My name is Angelina S. Tylinher."
"Ah, yes! We have been expecting you hours ago. What happened?"
I quickly thought of a good enough lie. "I fell asleep. I apologise."
"Oh, do not worry. We haven't started yet. I am professor Flitwick. It is nice to make your aquitance. Just follow the other students and I'll be right behind you."
"Thank you, professor." I responded. I did just as he instructed. After a few steps, a boy stopped walking and turned around to face me. I froze to the spot, terrified that he might know me. I mentally slapped myself, as knowing me would be impossible.
"I haven't seen you before. How do I not know you?" he asked. His eyes burned into mine and I had a feeling that he knew all my secrets. I started blushing.
"Well, all I can say is that you will know me from now on." I smiled and continued walking past him. His eyes followed me, his cold grey eyes that only a few moments ago stared into my soul.
Upon my arrival at the castle, professor Dumbledore greeted me.
"Miss Tylinher! We are so happy to have you!"
"I am very happy to be here, Albus." and I went closer to him to hug him. He responded, holding me thightly. I pulled back, and wiped a tear.
"Now, let's give you a grand entrance, shall we?" I smiled and followed him up the stairs to the Great Hall. There, he instructed me to wait until the doors opened. And so I did.
The next couple of minutes I could hear what happened inside. Firstly, Dumbledore opened with a wonderful speech, wishing all the students good luck in the following year, not to be demoralized by recent events and to know that they are the weapons of evil, and they can choose what to believe in. After that the sorting began. Basically, the future of the wizarding world was being decided. Who will be good, who will be attracted to evil and so on and so forth. All four houses got their new recruits and I felt that I was going in soon enough. I could hear Dumbledore speak loud and clearly.
"Before we start the feist, I have a big announcement to make. This year will be a special one as something unprecedented has happened. This will come as a shock to all of you as nothing like this ever happened in all of history of wizarding. A fellow student transferred from the witchcraft and wizarding school in Romania to our very own college. Please welcome Angelina S. Tylinher!"
Then the heavy wooden doors opened, revealing an imense hall, filled with people of all ages, and at the end of it stands the greatest wizard of time. Hundreds of eyes turned to look at me, the floating candles lit up and music started playing out of nowhere. He wasn't kidding when he talked about a great entrance. I started walking, holding my chin up, proud to be there. I felt the sting of brown, blue and green eyes, wondering who I was. Arriving next to Dumbledore, I looked about the room and my gaze stopped on a blond boy, locking genuinely mesmerized. I couldn't help but smile at everyones faces. They were all so surprised.
"Miss Tylinher, please take a seat in front of me so the sorting hat can find your place." Dumbledore said.
So I did just that. The hat sat quietly on my head for a short moment and then it talked.
"I see. Hmmm. This is rather unusual. Well, obviously you are a sixth year, but where to put you?" it said.
I closed my eyes and wished for the best.
"Oh, you will do great in every house! But there is one that you might be able to help. Or rather someone. Ok, it's decided."
I opened my eyes and looked around the room.
"You are a Gryffindor!"
And nothing happened. No one cheered, no one clapped. They were all looking at me with dumm faces.
I got up and Dumbledore pointed me to the Gryffindor table with a pat on the back.
I sat down next to a redheaded boy and smiled around the table. Then the food appeared and thank God for that because everyone started eathing.
"So, what's your deal?" the redheaded guy asked me in beetwen mouthfulls.
"Oh, Ron! Could you be more rude?" said the girl across from me.
"I'm Hermione and that's Ron." she said reffering to the redhead. "And this is Harry." She looked at the boy on her left and he semeed very familiar.
"Not Harry Potter?" I asked.
"Yeah. That's me. I'm afraid my reputation precedes me. Angelina, right?" the black-haired guy asked.
"Yes. I know this is an awkward situation. It's obvious that you all are very good friends and I have no intention of getting in beetwen any of you. So, I'll be just fine on my own."
"What are you talking about?" Hermione asked with a huge grin on her face. "Do you know how long I've wished for a girl friend? It's been hell with only this two around."
"Hey!" Ron and Harry yelled at the same time. I laughed, wishing that she would be right and I wouldn't be all alone here.
I looked over at the last table and saw that the blond guy from earlier this evening was looking at me.
"What house is that?" I asked my newly found friends.
"Which one?" Ron asked.
"The one with green and silver. They're sitting at the last table." I said.
"Oh. They are the Slytherin house. You don't want to get mixed up with them. They're of the wrong sort, if you know what I mean." Ron said, as he finally stopped eating.
"And the blond guy with grey eyes?" I asked genuinely interested.
"That's Draco Malfoy." Harry said with a hateful look on his face. He didn't even turn around to see who I was talking about.
"I get it he's not the friendliest of people?"
"He's the worst!" all three of them said at unison. I couldn't help but laugh and they soon followed.
We left the Great Hall after another hour. They led me to the Gryffindor Tower, and told me the password for the Fat Lady. Apparently, this year it was "dragon balls". The door opened to a big room, that emanated warmth, love and joy. I walked in closely followed by the three of them, taking in my surroundings.
Me and Hermione parted ways with the boys as each of us went to our dormitories. Luckily, I was in the same room as Hermione. We talked a little before going to sleep, but she didn't inquire anything on why I had transfered. I closed my eyes, afraid of what the next day might bring, but also excited about this new adventure.
