Jolly Holiday

Logan makes his guest appearance as he serenades his own Mary Poppins by telling her its a "Jolly Holiday" whenever she's around!  I do not own YJ, DC or Disney.

La'gaan stormed through the halls of the Watchtower. He couldn't believe his Angelfish had just dumped him. After everything we've been through together, she drops me like a hot stone and goes crawling back on her hands and knees to the guy who ditched her when the going got tough! He sat down and buried his fishy face in his webbed hands. Neptune's Beard! What does Conner have that I don't have?

Just then, who should show up in front of him but Katie, her blond curl bouncing as she skipped over to him, smiling at him friendly. He looked up, and his red eyes narrowed as he glared at her. He hated this girl. He had always hated her, even before he had even met her. Conner had always been his rival for M'gann's affections, and now, along came Katie, the flesh of blood of the very man who La'gaan had considered an enemy. Hence, he had always seen Katie as an enemy as well.

Not only that, but he had always felt a sense of failure and lack of self-esteem whenever she was around. Anyone with eyes and a working brain could see that Katie was totally gorgeous. Her shining blond hair fell in soft curls past her shoulders. Her skin was as clear as day, with cheeks as pink as petunias. Her pinkish-red lips were perfectly curved, and bubbly laughter always accompanied it. Her eyes were the same stunning ice blue as Conner's, accented by long eyelashes.

But that wasn't all that made her appealing. Katie had a heart bigger than her brother's muscles. She was always helping other people out, doing favors for everybody, trying her best to cheer them up. She always looked on the bright side of everything, and she strongly believed that there was good in everyone. Her bubbly and loving personality made her popular with everyone she met, in contrast to La'gaan, who had a hard time getting people to like him. Katie was the embodiment of all his insecurities.

She bent down at the waist towards. "Aww, whatza matter, Grumpy Pants? C'mon! Turn that frown upside-down!" La'gaan only frowned deeper. "Bug off, will you? I'm not in the mood today." "If you're in a bad mood, maybe I can lift your spirits!" He scoffed. "Yeah, right! You couldn't lift a stick from out of a stream!"

Just then, who else should appear but La'gaan's own brother, Lo'gann, or Logan, as he preferred to be called. Logan tried to be close with his brother, but was not always successful. Probably because La'gaan was mad at him for who he chose to date. You see, when he had first come to the surface world, he had met Katie and fallen head over heels in love with her. Despite La'gaan's disapproval, Logan adored Katie and worshipped the ground she walked on.

"How can you say that?", Logan cried. He looked at Katie with puppy-dog eyes. "Katie is practically perfect in every single way possible! She could make flowers bloom, teach birds how to sing, part the clouds with a wave of her hand!"  Out of the air, a barbershop quartet hat and a hooked wooden cane floated down to Logan.  Meanwhile, a white lace parasol gently fell from the sky into Katie's hand.

Logan took out a device and pushed a button.  The three people were instantly transported to a park in Happy Harbor.  The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and laughter could be heard from far-off.  Logan put his hat on and hooked his arm with Katie's while she carried her parasol over her shoulder.  As they skipped along the path, he twirled his cane and sang a happy song.

Ain't it a beautiful day?
Bright as the flowers in May!
I feel, like I could fly!

He floated up into the air.  Katie giggled as she pulled him down.  "Oh, Logan!  None of your fooling around!"  He smiled at her.

Have you ever seen
The grass so green?
Or a bluer sky?

La'gaan sneered at him.  "And you think Katie has something to do with that?"  "Of course!  Because..."

Oh, its a jolly holiday with Katie!
Katie makes your heart so light!
When the day is gray and ordinary,
Katie makes the sun shine bright!

He pranced around her, giving her doe-eyes.

Oh, happiness is blooming all around her!
The daffodils are smiling at the dove!
When Katie holds your hand,
You feel so grand!
Your heart starts beating like a big brass band!

He slapped his hand over his heart three times before playfully bonking the cane on the top of his head.  Katie giggled.  "Oh, honestly, Logan!"

Oh, its a jolly holiday with Katie!
No wonder why its Katie that we love!

La'gaan folded his arms over his chest and smirked smugly.  "Nice sentiment.  Too bad no one agrees with you."  Logan smiled and waved his hand.  A group of random people lined up in front of them.  Katie said on a tree stump, her parasol spread out behind her, as Logan stood and flicked his hands around like a conductor, signaling the people to sing one by one.

Its a jolly holiday with Katie!
Katie makes your heart so light!
When the day is gray and ordinary,
Katie makes the sun shine bright!
Oh, happiness is blooming all around her!
The daffodils are smiling at the dove!

Every single person, young and old, male and female, human or alien, joined into the song, their words reaching through the whole town.

When Katie holds your hand,
You feel so grand!
Your heart starts beating like a big brass band!

Logan took her hand and pulled her to her feet.  They skipped back down the path as the people sang their last verse.

Oh, its a jolly holiday with Katie!
No wonder why its Katie that we love!

La'gaan ran after the two lovebirds, who threw their cane and parasol up into the air.  Instead of falling back down to earth, however, the things floated and twirled in the air for a few minutes.  While they flew around, Logan and Katie did a duet tap number.  They skipped and skedaddled with clicks and clacks all the way over to the pond.  A pair of green turtles emerged from the water, inviting them onboard.  Logan and Katie each put one foot on the back of the turtle's shell and rode them all the way to the other side of the lake.  La'gaan ran in after them, trudging through the muck at the bottom of the lake.

The turtles came to the other side.  Logan and Katie stepped off their shells and turned around to smile at them.  "Thank you."  The turtles smiled back before going back underwater.  Logan and Katie held a hand up high as his cane and her parasol floated back down and landed into their respective hands.  They linked arms once more and skipped further down the path.  La'gaan emerged from the pond, his legs covered in mud and muck, to see Katie perched gracefully on the edge of the gorgeous white bridge nearby, her legs crossed just right as she sat.  She looked at Logan leaning next to her and smiled warmly as she sang.

Oh, its a jolly holiday with you, Logan.
Gentlemen like you are few.

He blushed red in the cheeks.  "Oh, cut it out!"

Though you're just a diamond in the rough, Logan,
Underneath your blood is blue!

He nodded.  "Its true!  It actually is blue!  Its a part of my Atlantian DNA."

You'd never think of pressing your advantage,
For you have a heart that's pure and true!
A lady needn't fear
When you are near.
Your sweet gentility is crystal clear!
Oh, its a jolly holiday with you, Logan.
A jolly, jolly holiday with yooooooouu!

She jumped down onto her feet and took Logan's offered hand.  Together, they skipped and pranced over the bridge and down the path.  La'gaan just stood there, scowling and covered in wet grime and muck.  "I can't catch a break today, can I?"

No, La'gaan.  No, you cannot.
