Chapter 12

Kearstyn POV

*The day before*

I pulled in to a long, narrow driveway. I honestly had no idea where I was going. All that was on this woman's website  is what kinds of dogs she had and her address. But here I am, in the middle of nowhere, about to get another puppy for me and my roommates. 

A skinny woman came out of the front door to great me. "Hello. You must be Kearstyn. I'm Anna. Nice to meet you. Now if you will come with me, the puppies are out back. This way please." She said in about ten seconds. 

I followed her out to the back of her house and was amazed by how many dogs that she had there. Old and young, running all over the gated back yard. 

"The breed we were talking about is right over here." Anna said as she guided me to a smaller fenced in area where 3 puppies were bouncing around. 

"These are the Norfolk Terriers correct?" I asked

"Yep. Now pick one so you can take it home." She said as she moved out of the way. 

I picked up the only girl in there fence. She was so adorable. I paid Anna and walked back to my car. I drove home and let the puppy meet  Rixton. He growled for a couple seconds, then just kinda walked off. I sighed and went up to my room to go to sleep.

*The next day*

"I hate grocery shopping in LA. "Liz said as we were sitting in the backed up traffic.

"I hate going anywhere in LA. It's like as soon as you pull out of your driveway, you are stuck in traffic." I replied as I put my head down on the wheel

"Wasn't Janae home alone today?"

"Yeah because Kaitlyn had that thing with the Grumps and here we are so..."

"Yeah. Well, let's get going. Traffic is moving."

*An hour later*

We pulled into the driveway after what seemed like a day later. Liz had taken a nap and I had all of the groceries in my lap. Then I took a look at the house...

"Janae... What did you do..." I said as I got out of the car

"It's totally fine! Don't worry about it!" Janae said

"Janae, what am I supposed to do with these groceries now?" 

"Kearstyn, it's fine. Just relax."

"Our house is on fire. How is this fine?"

"It just is okay." 

And then Liz got out of the car, took one look at the house, and got back in the car.

" I'm just gonna go and get some Starbucks..." I said as I put the groceries down and got back into the car.
