I sat staring at my hands, unsure of what I was supposed to be feeling, what I was supposed to be thinking. Was I supposed to be gushy about how I was a wanted by the world’s sexiest man, or was I supposed to be disgusted that my kidnapper had claimed my lips as his and I had drunk blood straight from his arm. However, I was not doing either, I was simply staring at my hands, as if they held the answer that I was seeking, when I knew they did not. My focus become to blur as I stared at my hands and my vision went black again, before it reappeared, but I was no longer staring at my hand, but staring at a door.

“Come in.” A voice said behind the door, had I knocked? The voice was not Gabriel’s, and I did not recall even standing up, let alone walking anywhere.

I pushed the door open, and stepped in rather hesitantly. The room looked like Gabriel’s office, the desk neat and the papers, although there were many of them, were stacked in neat piles, but the man behind the desk was not Gabriel, but he could be his brother. His eyes were icy blue, just as cold and frozen but much more fearful, and his cheekbones were set as perfectly but his lips were thinner, sculpted into a frown and instead of inky black hair, his was a silver blond.

“Father.” The word came out of my mouth, but not in my voice. Had I fallen asleep while trying to find my answers, because I realized that I was not in my body, but Gabriel’s?

“What is it Gabriel, I have business to attend to.” Only then did I realize the second man in the room, but this man I recognized, Joshua was looking at Gabriel with a knowing, disgusted look.

“I came to apologize for my being, mother informed me of the fact that I am…different. I am sorry that I have become a disgrace and I have dishonored your name and legacy.”

“That is fine.” His father said apathetically, his eyes did not change one bit.

“What is wrong with you, Gabriel?” Joshua asked, looking Gabriel up and down.

“Do not entertain the boy.” Gabriel’s father said, turning his eyes away and looking down at the papers in front of him

“I heard that you were born human, that you will never have the chance to live for an eternity, that you're never going to take over for you father, because you will die a mortal.

“I was not born human.” Gabriel retorted. “I was born with a genetic mutation, that I have no ability to become a vampire, not a full-fledged one even if turned, I am a partial immortal. I crave blood and I have the urging to rip a human in half, but I am not invincible, at least not at them moment.”

“What are you saying?” Gabriel’s father asked, suddenly intrigued in the conversation.

“There is a way to make me immortal, I just have to sacrifice something that is supposed to be dear to me, I sacrifice that and then I become immortal.”

“You mean, a simple sacrifice would change your being?” His father asked.

                “Yes.”

“What is it?” Joshua asked the fateful question, the one that everyone, including me, was waiting for. What was it Gabriel had to sacrifice? I know understood Gabriel’s frost personality, he was not all he was meant to be and he was taking it out on the world.
