"I love you." I whispered into her ear as I held her in my arms. "I love you too." She whispered as she dug her face into my chest. "I can hear your heart beat." She whispered softly.When she looked up, she met my gaze. Her eyes sparkled like the stars. "It's because it only beats for you." I said as I caressed her cheek softly. She blushed and looked away and stared at the branches of the oak tree getting blown by the light breeze. "This place is beautiful." She said while still look looking at the oak tree. I wrapped my hands around her waist while I was behind her and kissed her head softly. "Yes, it is. But you're more beautiful." I whispered into her ear. She grins and says "You're such a kiss ass. I think we should leave and get something to eat for lunch." I grin and say "Hey, I'm only a kiss ass if the things I say are untrue. I assure you, I'm no kiss ass." She rolls her eyes and keeps walking to the car. As we made it to the car she said "You can drive. I'm gonna take a nap" I smile and hop in the driver seat of the old muscle car. The car was full of that leather smell from the interior. I turned the key in the ignition switch and heard the old engine purr. I turned and headed towards the local burger place in town. I could already taste the juicy burger. I looked to each side of the road and saw big fields with a few cows and trees. I looked over and saw her looking at me with life in her eyes. She reached her hand out and grabbed mine and whispered "I love you, Jake" I grin and say "I love you too, Chloe" I looked back at the road with a smile on my face. "She's the one" I thought to myself. I wondered if she thought I was the one for her. "I don't know what I'd do without her. I can't imagine my life without her. I'd rather die. I think now is the perfect time to do it." So many things race through my mind. I feel so nervous. I look up and realize we're getting close to town. I look at her and smile, even though I feel like a nervous wreck inside. "I have a surprise for you, babe. Open up the glove box and pull it out" I tell her. I glance back and forth between her and the road. She smiles and opens up the glove box. She looks inside and her face is overcome with joy and shock. She pulls out a small box and looks at me with tears in her eyes. All my attention is on her as I say "we've been together for three years now. It's been the best years of my life. It's made me realize that I need you in my life to be happy. I will be yours, and only yours. All you have to do is make me the happiest man alive and marr-" the back of my head hits against the driver window and everything goes black. All I hear is screeching metal and people screaming for help. Then I pass out feeling blood run down the back of my head and the nape of my neck. I wake up with the car upside down. Everything is blurry and I feel dizzy. I look over and don't see Chloe in the passenger seat. "Chloe! Where are you?!" I yell as I look around for her. I look and see her lying down on her back with a pool of blood around her. In a panic, I unclip my seatbelt and instantly fall in my pool of blood below me. I frantically crawl out the driver side window to get to Chloe as fast as I could. As soon as I make it out the window, I try standing up, but feel a very sharp terrible pain in my leg. So I made my way to her as fast I could despite my injuries. I sit down and hold her in my hands. I use my shaky hands to wipe her hair and blood from her face while saying "you're going to be okay. Just stay with me. I can't lose you. You can't leave me. Please, please stay with me. I love you. Don't go." She looks a me with a partial smile and holds up her hand. It has a shiny strange object in her ring finger,which I thought was glass, until she manages to utter the word "yes". The life leaves her body and her hand with the ring on it slowly falls on the asphalt. She starts to feel cold. "No..... Please come back to me. I'm begging you. Please?" I whisper in her ear. I kiss her forehead as I hold her tighter in my arms. I look up to see our car upside down with the passenger side caved in and an 18 wheeler with barley even a dent beside it. I see an ambulance pull up and I pick Chloe up with care and walk slowly to the medics. Everything is a blur. All I see is Chloe in my arms. I look up to see medics taking her from my arms. I keep my eyes on her. "Sir, I said 'Are you alright?'." I nod slowly. They load Chloe up and drive off. I watch them drive off. "No,no,no this can't be happening. This must be a dream. I need to wake up"I whisper to must as tears roll down my cheeks. I look around and see a crowed looking at me and the destroyed car. "That really just happened. No, I couldn't have lost her. She's going to be alright. She's going to make it. She's going to make it. She's going to make it. She's going........she's gone. I've lost her" I fall to my knees screaming.
