The image above is my notebook, currently full of over 60 pages of rants and musings, which inspired this online version of it.

For the most part, I don't think this will be like most rant books on here. These will be structured, almost closer resembling essays than the short, venting-esque rants one sees drifting around Wattpad.

####

Hello, friends! I've got a lot of thoughts about a lot of things. I have no divine right to those thoughts and opinions, but considering you clicked on this book, you're here to know what they are, right?

On a serious note:

I love conversation. Respectful, constructive, considerate debate is my favorite activity. I love the chance to expand my thoughts, overcome societal conditioning, think freely, and express my own opinions (as respectfully as possible) to help others who enjoy it do the same. My problem is that in real life, I have trouble finding people to do this with. So I have a notebook that I keep all of these thoughts and such in. But it's no substitute for conversation.

So I thought, for the sake of organizing my thoughts, exercising my persuasive writing skills, ranting on things that I have a passion (positive or negative) over, and practicing the rather difficult process of being an open book and overcoming stage fright, I would take that notebook and transcribe it to Wattpad.

If conversation comes from it, awesome! If it doesn't, that's alright, all the rest of my goals are still fulfilled.

If, at some point, that conversation does erupt, just as a precaution, I'd like to establish a couple rules and notes about what I hope will happen within the realm of discussion. These will be covered in the next chapter, which functions as both my first rant and the rules.

On a lighter note:

This won't be all dark and deep. Like all the rest of my non-fiction books on here, I'll put a key code at the beginning of each chapter, to show what type of rant it is. See below.

Left of colon
L = Light Rant
M = Middle Ground Rant
D = Dark/Deep Rant
P = Personal Rant

Right of colon
R = Prepared (Confident)
W = Pantsed (Confident)
U = Prepared (Unsure)
S = Pantsed (Unsure)

Parentheses
R = Religion
P = Politics
S = Psychology
M = Media (tv, books, etc)
None = Other

I'll explain these terms now. A light rant is probably not actually a "light" rant. It's probably gonna be on less serious topics, maybe like tv shows.

A dark rant is basically something highly controversial and deep, like religion and moral psychology.

A middle ground rant is somewhere in between, because some won't fall in either category.

A prepared rant is basically something I spent a ton of time on, have thought a lot about, maybe even have done a bunch of research on.

A personal rant is basically just something relating to my real life, rather than abstract thoughts and reasonings like the others.

A "pantsed" rant is basically if I just literally word vomited with minor editing.

The different between "confident" and "unsure" is a big deal.

A confident rant is a rant where I am at peace with myself over the content, not feeling like I'm warring over it internally. These are ones I can usually take a beating over.

"Unsure" rants, however, are things that I'm still trying to decide for myself what I think about the topic. I'm in a state of flux about it, and that is extremely stressful. The amount of bashing I can take over these is a lot lower, so please respectful even if you disagree.

The parentheses explain themselves.

Things you should know:
- I am agnostic, and don't like to associate myself with the word "Christian", but I do label myself as an avid follower of the teachings of Jesus. I will label chapters that address religion accordingly -- with a parenthetic "R", like so: (R) -- for those who'd rather avoid the topic.

- I tend to be extremely critical of Christianity, despite associating myself with portions of it (to some degree), and having been a full member of it once. But don't worry, I stab at non-Christians pretty frequently as well.

- I tend to be liberal on most social issues and conservative on most economic and governmental issues. I tend to just fall closer to the category of libertarian.

- I'm 17. I'm not a psychologist or an economist or a professional anything. I just have a love for analysis and a decent intuition, or so I'm told.

- I really don't fall into any categories perfectly, so I expect people from all sides to hate me. Oh well.

If you stick around, I'm so glad to have you! I'd love to hear from any and all of you! Thanks for taking the time to check this out
