Pen woke up in the middle of the night. Her cat, miss Fire, was standing in the entrance of her bedroom. Miss Fire had light green eyes, and fur as dark as coal. She constantly tilted her head a little bit to the left. Pen got up and walked out of her room to get some water. As she left her now lit up room, she heard some silent screams. -They come from my parents's room, come on, miss Fire! They both walked into Pen's parents's room only to see their bodies laying on the floor in pieces. Pen's eyes opened wide. She was speechless, but suddenly she felt a dark shadow go through her body making both her, and her precious cat disappear.
Pen woke up in a strange-looking room. It was massive with lots and lots of faded-greencolored beds. -Ah, you're awake. Good morning, Pen. Pen looked up and saw a man sitting in a chair next to her. -I am Dr Pedlock, he said. Pen tried to get up and out of her bed, but her legs weakened and she fell down on the floor instantly. -Oh, are you okay? I'm afraid you can't walk quite yet, the medicine I gave you were probably a little bit too strong, he said, laughing nervously. Pen looked at him without saying anything. -I'm joking, of course. But you might feel a bit dizzy for the next couple of hours. He lifted her back into her bed. -What is this place? Pen said as her first words in the new, strange place. -This is what we call The Fun Hospital, you see, it's for children who imagine weird things, and need a place to live. We help them stop imagining these weird things, and when they become normal again we let them go home to their families, the doctor said calming. -Wow, that sounds... Nice! Pen replied with a bit of insecurity in her voice. Suddenly a young, beautiful lady came into the room. She had red long hair, and a big red smile. -Dinner's served! Come eat, lovely ones, she said as she put at least 15 plates on a table with different food on them. -Who is she? Pen asked the doctor. -That is Maya, the caretaker in this section. She is very kind, he said and pushed Pen over to eat. Pen instantly loved her new caretaker, she was so kind and so understanding, she could alone turn all the children in the hospital normal again. Pen and Maya talked all night long until Pen had to take her sleeping pills, and the hospital closed for the night.
