Chapter Two:

Enjoy :)

"And we'll that's all for today, I'll see you guys tomorrow." Amy dismissed us to leave until the next session.

It had been a full day and sourpuss still hasn't shown up.

I don't know why it was bothering  me so much but I couldn't get him out of my head. He haunted my every thought and I hate it.

I shifted my dark shades further up the bridge of my nose as I walked out of the building, keeping my head low.

I soon arrived at the worn cobblestone steps to my home. The railings placed on either side of the steps were rusted and loose, wobbling at the slightest touch.

I slowly pushed through the rotating doors leading in.

"hey sugar" Lenny spoke in a low voice as I passed. The foul scent of alcohol on his breath. I narrowly dodged his outstretched hand, sidestepping the burly man.

His sinister eyes narrowed as I passed and he let out a huff of disappointment.

His gaze travelled low.

I pressed the elevator button and waited about ten seconds for the light to go off, signaling I could step in.

The walls were lined with dusty mirrors that reflected me in each.

My light strawberry blond hair came to my waist, slightly frizzed but otherwise  pin straight. My features were petite and dotted with small ginger freckles across my face. My eyes were concealed by black sunglasses which recently became a part of me.

I stepped out of the elevator

I traveled to the third floor stepping out of the elevator.

I unlocked the small apartment and was instantly tackled in to a bear hug around my torso.

"Ellie!" My little brother Johnny yelled, his small frame clinging to me as I chuckled and sat him on the couch.

"Hey JJ, where's dad?"

"Umm-" the four year old looked up in thought "I think daddy's in the kitchen" he pointed to the side room.

Just then the fire alarm went off and the smell of smoke entered my nose.

"It's ok!" My dad screeched bursting through the door,

"false alarm!"
His salt and pepper colored hair was covered in a gooey beige substance.

I felt a small smile form on my lips and shouted "third time this week, I think that's a new record!"

He stuck his tongue out and rushed back through the door as the beeping got louder and I caught a glimpse of what looked like burning cereal.
