Percy Jackson

Percy should have known the nightmares wouldn’t stop.

He had honestly been a little hopeful that since he was far away from Camp Half-Blood the dreams would stop. After the Giant War, his dreams had only been nightmares from the war, but this one was the first vision he had in a while.

He stood at a cliff, storm clouds circling above in the night sky. Lightning flashed violently, but Percy didn’t hear any thunder. Instead, he heard two voices arguing.

They came from the two men standing at the edge of the cliff, looking down at whatever was underneath; Percy couldn’t see. Both were tall and scrawny, with pale skin, but they were both incredibly different. The first man’s face was creased with worry lines, and his bright blue eyes seemed to pop out of his head in contrast with his pale skin.  His brown, combed hair made him look almost like a normal human, with normal problems like mortgage, bills and kids.

The other man, however, wore a small smirk, darkening his already dark eyes. A sinister look shone in his eyes, almost mockingly. He had the perfect superstitious look of a villain, topping it all off with a black trench coat and hair the same colour.

“I still think you’re blowing this way out of proportion,” the normal looking man snapped, not meeting the other’s eyes.

The second man’s smirk widened, and he replied calmly, “Don’t you worry, Simon. Some things already have a spark; it just needs to be lit.”

                Simon frowned. “I don’t understand-”

“You wouldn’t,” the other man agreed. “But you will. Once our plan is put into action, nothing can stop us from getting what we need.”

“The Ministry of Magic?” Simon asked.

“The Ministry of Magic,” the other confirmed.

The Ministry of Magic. Percy was pretty sure he had heard someone mention that before, maybe when he was speaking with the Heads of House. Percy hadn’t paid much attention to it, which he regretted now.

“Zeus knows demigods and wizards can’t work together,” the man continued. “This is the perfect way to make sure that never happens.”

Percy drew in a breath. This guy obviously knew about demigods and wizards, and judging by the use of the words Zeus knows, he was a demigod.

Simon just nodded meekly. The two men walked closer to the edge of the cliff, and Percy finally looked down, immediately wishing he hadn’t.

Hundreds of feet below, the world was on fire.

Percy shot awake.

He was covered in a cold sweat, the burning fields etched into his mind. Percy tried to shake off the dream, but he couldn’t help the heavy thought lingering in the back of his mind that something big was going to go down.

Glancing around the room, Percy saw that everyone was still asleep, and let his head hit the pillow again. Closing his eyes, he felt himself drift back to sleep quickly, despite the jumbled thoughts crowding his mind.

Hopefully, it would be a dreamless sleep this time.

Nope.

Percy stood in the Big House, along with Piper, Jason, Annabeth and Chiron. A pang of guilt shot through Percy as he thought what Annabeth must be feeling now that he had disappeared again. He also felt some fear for how hard she was going to punch him when he got back. If he got back.

Percy mentally scolded himself for such thoughts before turning his attention to the conversation that was taking place.

“Chiron if you know where he is-” Annabeth was saying but was cut off by Chiron when he raised a hand to silence her.

“My dear, I simply cannot tell you,” he said, a little too dismissively for Percy’s liking.

“Well, is he okay?” Piper asked, and Chiron hesitated. “Seriously? You can’t tell us that?

“He’s fine,” Chiron answered simply. “Do not worry about it. Now go back to your classes.”

Annabeth sighed heavily and walked out with Piper. Jason however, stayed behind.

Chiron raised an eyebrow. “Jason? Is everything alright?”

Jason cleared his throat, obviously unsure as to what to say. “Um, Chiron,” Jason began hesitantly, “would Percy disappearing have anything to do with two demigods named Simon and Ajax?”

Simon. One of the demigods on the cliff. Percy had never heard the other’s name but he assumed Jason was talking about the same guys. Was he having the dreams also?

Chiron frowned, and Percy could tell he knew something about what was going on. “What do you mean, Jason?”

“I’ve been getting some dreams,” Jason explained. “About these two demigods. They’re talking about taking over the Ministry of Magic, but I’m not sure what that is. Do you…” Jason flattered when he saw the look Chiron was giving him.

“Jason, you cannot mention these dreams to anyone,” Chiron said, a little too sternly. Jason swallowed.

                “But-”

                “No, Jason. I mean it.”

“But what is the Ministry of Magic?” Jason pushed. “What does it mean?”

“You will find out eventually,” Chiron answered gravely.

Jason grit his teeth, losing patience. “Chiron, I’ve been having these dreams for nights now, and they all end with the world going up in flames. I need to know!”

Just then, Piper walked in, freezing at the door as her eyes darted from Jason to Chiron. She gulped, before turning to Jason and saying softly, “Jason, you coming?”

Chiron looked relieved. “Go on, Jason. I will see you at the campfire tonight.”

                With that, he woke up.

Possibilities and theories were swirling his mind, but one was for sure.

He was here for a reason. And whatever that reasons was, Percy would be finding out soon.

And he had a feeling he wouldn’t like it.

Whoo, done! Sorry for the wait. Hope you enjoyed!
