"Adonis do you copy? Adonis!"

A worried yell echoed through my blank mind. Where was I? Why was my head in so much pain? There were voices all around me. Ones I recognized and others I didn't. "Wake up, I need you!" The sound of my best friends voice began to thunder into my sensitive ears. "CHASE RIDER I SWEAR IF YOU DON'T-"

"I swear to god Alistar Malik I will rip your vocal cords out of your throat if you yell at me again." I snarled.

"You're alive!" Alistar whispered out, seemingly panting in pure joy.

"Adonis, this is commander Zed, are you alright?"

"Yes sir! My Shooter is alive and seems unharmed."

"Thank you Pilot Malik. Get back into formation."

The year is 2879, January 12th. Earth had become a dangerous planet in the year of 2617. With the sun growing faster with each coming year, the human race was forced off the burning planet and into the unknown orbit of the Milky Way galaxy. Once that galaxy was deemed unfit, the 500 million human survivors were sent into a nearby galaxy, known as the Sagittarius Dwarf, an elliptical galaxy that orbits that of the Milky Way. Little did our humans know that the planet they inherited and called Vita Telluris, was already an alien born planet. The scientists who came to live on this planet knew that they needed to repopulate. Since their original 500 million survivors had died off, they now only had 76 million humans to breed. Every child born after 'day' was given a chain with a specific shape. But only given half. When they came of age, they're pendant would heat up, or cool down depending on the distance of their, so called 'mates.' There was no rejecting, no break ups, no divorces. Before they were born, mothers were injected with a special serum, making the babies stronger, faster, more agile than regular humans, but also, lived an astounding 300 to 700 years longer than humans, and finished growing at the physical age of 20. These children were trained from birth to protect their little planet from creatures that lived in the west of their galaxy. Navigators and Shooters were kept together from birth, mostly males. Navigators controlled where their ships went, and the Shooters killed and fought the enemy. But even co-pilots, despite their close bonds, had pendants, and retired after 100 years of work to spend the rest of their lives repopulating. During the process of creating these Luminums, a glitch appeared in the serum more than once. Creating children who could change gender on command. These humans are known as breeders, and are worshiped like gods. Kept in separate parts of the base when they come to repopulate on the Tibarus station.

Pendants come in every shape, size and colour, the most common being a puzzle piece, Or a heart or a star. Only the very special, and very rare people get specific pendants.

Chase Rider. 247 years old, A shooter, co-pilot to Alistar Malik, and one of the few Luminum to have a special pendant. A dragon eye. A symbol of Death, Destruction, Pain, Remorse, Lust, Love, and Pride. A powerful symbol and a passionate man to say the least. He has worked 206 years for the Illuminary. Save hundreds if not thousands of lives.

Alistar Malik. 342 years old, A navigator, co-pilot to Chase Rider. Well trusted Luminar for 237 years. Pendant; Puzzle piece, periwinkle blue. Symbol of protection, importance and smarts.

"The enemy ship has been eliminated!" Voices cheered, other ships went flying past, back to the Tibarus star base.

"Chase! Chase we did it!" Kingsley yelled through the communicator, causing me to wince and rip the small device from my ear.

"I know King!" I yelled back, chuckling once I hear him yelp from the pain in his ear.

"Take us home Al." I call back to my navigator. I had known and lived with Alistar for my whole life. No Luminum has ever met their parents, supposedly because they all died giving birth to us. Luminums are rare. I am rare. We are all special and important to the human race. Although no one can really call us human anymore. Most regular humans have died out, leaving new race of chemically designed humanoids. But who cares. It's not like we have fins, or green skin, or red eyes. I scoffed, thinking of he combinations of what we could've looked like. Alistar looked back at me.

"So the Luminar from the Summa base are coming later tonight." His voice was like silk, smooth and calming.

"I heard, think your amator will be there?" Amator, that's what the mates are called. It means lover in Latin. But the languages have changed, merging into themselves. French no longer exists, Czech, Dutch, German, no longer exist. English is still a main language. Next to Spanish, Italian and Greek. But most things are named in Latin.

"I hope. I've waited 300 years for them." He deep voice let out a chuckle that could make any girl swoon.

"If we were aloud, Al you and I would've been the gods of this awful place." A smirk plastered itself on my face. Girls would flirt with us constantly, although we knew none of them were truly 'ours.' We would still flirt back. The both of us had incredibly well built bodies, at one point throughout my life, Al stole my shirt and I had to walk down the corridor in only my pants. That's how my ship got its name. The Adonis. A name of a extremely handsome god. Or so we thought.

"We're here Chase." Al smiled as he pulled his helmet off, revealing his lime green eyes, pale skin and white locks of straight, soft fluff. Also known as hair. He was a handsome man. To say the least.
