The ball lasted for little over an hour after we'd danced again. We'd mostly chatted to Vic's friends, with Jack and Alex coming and joining us later on. Jack and Ellie almost became a twin act, a classic comedy duo, comedic dancing complete with Ellie tripping up on her dress a few times util she got annoyed and hitched it up over her knees. Even by the end of the evening, I found myself getting used to how they interacted as a group, to the point where Carly, Takara and Jasmin dancing together for some supposedly intimate dances didn't surprise me.
After the evening was finished, I went to bed with Vic, falling asleep curled up together. When we woke up in the morning, Vic begrudgingly sent me back to the room that had been mine to pack some clothes into a bag, ready to take back to Vesani with me. I was almost packed when he came running into the room, pushing me onto the bed and kissing me.
"Well hello to you too." We both laughed laughed, and he collapsed from his kneeling position so that he was half on top of me.
"Are you almost done? Because breakfast will be ready soon, and Carly and Jasmin wanted to talk to you first."
"I've literally just got to put the last few things into the bag, and then I'll be all packed." He kissed me again, and then rolled off of me completely.
"Okay, I'll help you then." We folded and packed the last few shirts, before Vic ran through a mental tick list to make sure that I hadn't forgotten anything.Vic then dragged me down to the front room, where Carly and Jasmin were sat laughing.
"Hi Kellin." They both waved me in. "You can go now Vic. A few minutes apart isn't going to kill you." He didn't hesitate, surprisingly, and went off, leaving me with Jasmin and Carly. I walked further into the room, glad to see that they were both smiling.
"Come sit down. Don't worry, we're not going to be mean or anything. Just thought we should probably tell you a little about everyone in the group, because you seemed a little surprised by some of the things we were saying and doing. Well, the others anyway."
"A little bit, it has to be said."
"It's not really surprising. Ellie is mental, and I mean in the head, not as a compliment. And most of us are so comfortable around each other that we will openly discuss sex, Ben and Denis more than everyone else usually." Carly informed me, and I assumed that Ellie was either aware that she was doing this, or wouldn't mind.
"And Carly forgot to mention Jack and Ellie. You remember how they were around each other last night?" I nodded, images of Jack running through the garden with Ellie on his back, only just managing not to fall into the pool, flashing into my head. "They've been friends their entire lives. It isn't unusual for them to pair up and annoy the heck out of everyone, or keep everyone in stitches. Mostly through making jokes at Ellie's expense, or just by being idiots. You'll get used to it though, much like you'll have to get used to the fact that Carly says things as they are, and Takara and Ben literally never let go of each other."
"Anything that I should know?" Thy both shook their heads, and then stood up.
"Nope, lets go eat."Breakfast was really fun, sitting around the table with everyone, talking and laughing. I was mostly talking to Juliet and Andy, who were sat across from me, and Vic, who was right next to me. I did however managed to wind up in a conversation with Jack and Alex, who were telling me all about the city in Vesani, with all of it's ancient buildings, and the long expenses of white sandy beaches just outside of the city walls, which I would be able to see from the plane when we were coming into land.
Once eveyone had eaten, we packed up the cars, and drove everyone and everything back to the airfield, where the plane was waiting for us. Loading up the plane didn't take long, Juliet and Andy were helping us before they drove back to the house and brought Jaime, Tony and Mike back from dropping the cars off. Before we could leave, Juliet cornered me again, hugging me tightly, a few stray tears rolling down her face.
"We'll only be gone for two weeks, I thought you'd like the peace and quiet while we're gone."
"It's not that. I'm happy, these are happy tears, for you and Vic." Andy came over then, spotting that I was trying desperately to comfort Juliet.
"Not this again." He put his arms around her, kissing the top of her head. "You know she was in tears watching you two dancing yesterday as well."
"Seriously?"
"It was worse than this." Vic called out to me, telling me to get onto the plane. "We'd better go before you guys take off. Have a good time, we'll see you when you get home."
"Thanks, see you in a few weeks." I ran off, over to the door that Vic was leaning out of. With one final wave, I got on board, and Vic shut the door behind me.
