Lost in New York

The Run

I was running away from him. He was coming up behind me, and he was coming fast. I didn't know where I was, or where I was running to, all I knew was that I had to run. My shoelace came undone but I kept running, running as fast as my little legs could take me.

I stopped a second to catch my breath. I slid my hand into my pocket and took out my inhaler, using it quickly before shoving it back into my pocket and continuing to run.

Scorpius had always been the fastest in the schools. He was forever running away. The reason being is because he is the school bully, and he runs away from schools. Don't even get me started on the police.

I tripped over my lace, landing on the hard, stoney ground. Worried Scorpius would catch up with me, I jumped up as quick as lightning, or so I thought, and ran faster than before. I felt sick, but I knew Scorpius would give up eventually. 

I frantically looked around me for a place to dive and hide. I glanced to my left. Nothing. Glanced to my right. Nothing again. I shot my head around. Scorpius began to run faster, glaring at me. I looked to the front and out the corner of my eye I could see an alleyway.

I decided to chance it, diving to the left and landing in the alleyway. Quickly, I got up and hid behind some bins, waiting patiently for Scorpius to either come and find me or run straight past the alleyway.

Using my jumper sleeve, I wiped away the beads of sweat that were rolling down my face. Unsure I was hallucinating or not, I stumbled towards what I thought were a group of my friends.

Yup. I was hallucinating. They weren't actually there, it was just my mind tricking me, making me think they were there.

I looked around the thin alleyway. There was a green door with a sign on it.

'Authorised Personnel Only.'

I shrugged my shoulders and walked through, not caring if it was potentially dangerous or not.
