Chapter 9

They're already in the car and I ran as fast as I can. We're off to the mall. While Mr. Sandler's driving, I'm trying to talk to Kyla. She's sitting at the front seat. So I leaned over to her and when I saw her, she has earphones and just staring outside the window. I think she's lonely. I wish the Gary thing is true. So she would trust me forever. Yeah! Okay here we go. We're at the mall. Kyla got off the car last. She's at the distance of me and Mr. Sandler. She's still sad or mad. I don't know. I'm not a mind reader. I went to her and talked to her saying "Kyla, what's wrong?". Her face turned pale and slighty red with an angry face in her. As we went into the mall, Kyla was still pale. Mr. Sandler pointer at the Northeast of the mall saying "There's his store. No one ever buys his socks. Just some". Kyla faced at me, still pale, and pointed at me and said "If this is not true...". Then she ran towards his store then she suddenly slows down. Her skin is normal again. Then a tear dropped. Then she kneels sadly. So we ran towards her. We're trying to get her up but then we saw his store. It was Gary. I hold on my breath and face towards her again. She was crying to the max. Then Gary saw us. He ran towards us.

"KYLA! What happened!?" he said. "Don't you dare take another step!" I answered. We pulled Kyla backwards. She nd Mr. Sandler are just silent. "Kyla, I'm sorry. I-" "Do you work here?" Kyla added to him. "Well I-" "Did you work here!?" she said madly. "Yes" Gary replied without saying another word. "I've spent every hour to listen to one of your adventures, I was so amazed! But you never told me this!?" Kyla said. "Look, I may be a salesman but hey, I'm rich, am I? Why can't you just be proud of my adventures, go out, and pretend this never happens, okay?" Gary said while pushing her to the door. "Wait." Mr. Sandler said. "I saw this in your house..." Mr. Sandler added while he's holding up pictures. "You two were best friends. You're Drake. You were her best friend in school, are you?" Mr.. Sandler said while throwing the photos to him. All scattered. Kyla picked one up. She turned all red again and said to Gary, or should I say Drake, "Drake? Is that you? Why didn't you told me this...?". Kyla left while leaving the photo on the ground. While she's walking, she turned around and said "We're over, Gary. Or should I sayd Drake!?". She ran outside. I followed her eventually. "Just stay away from my daughter. Never lie, okay?" Mr. Sandler said. 

I went to her. She's in the car. Then I went in. She's not crying but inside, I know she's crying. I talked to her. "Kyla I know you're saad. I'm sorry." I said. "For what?" she asked. "For being jealous. I know I shouldn't have shown you this. But it's for the best. He's lying to you and you didn't believed me. So I needed proof" I answered. "It's fine, El." she replied. "It's almost school day. We have to be ready."  I said. Mr. Sandler went into the car. We all stared at each other. "Let's just go." Mr. Sandler said.
