The loud blaring of my alarm sounding throughout my room startled me, causing me to jolt up in bed, scaring away the remains of my lingering dreams. I then crawl out of bed hauling my body lazily into the bathroom to start my shower, I turn the water on to the perfect temperature; scorching hot, before I head back into my bedroom to find something suitable to wear. Once satisfied with my outfit, I jump into the shower, closing my eyes I get lost in the warmth as my mind starts to wander to when i first met Isaac.
FLASHBACK:
"The new neighbors have a son around your age, you should go say hi, everyone knows you need friends." My father says nastily. Ugh, not this again. "I'd rather not" I reply just as nasty, getting up from the couch and leaving the house. I refuse to stay there as long as he was there, why isn't he at work or drinking his sorrows away, anyway? I plug in my earphones and head down the street, to blow off time until he leaves for work. Glancing at the time on my phone 6:45, hmm not too bad he should be leaving in about an hour. I hum along to Panic! At the Disco as I make my way to the park down the block. Cringing, I squeeze my sweater tight to my body as the stinging of the bitter cold air bit at my face; I should've really grabbed a jacket. Lost in my thoughts I crash into something hard-someone rather, I realize as strong arms shoot out to catch me just as my feet begun to leave the ground. Dizzy from the impact I catch my breath and look up at the stranger who I've just encountered. Big wild brown eyes stared back into mines, shock evident in both of ours as he steadied me, " I am so sorry about that, you okay?" A thick accent says shortly after. Furrowing my eyebrows I look at him more intently trying to place his accent, lost into my own mind again, he speaks once more, " Ehh.. Are you alright?" Finally gaining the ability to talk, I straighten myself up and utter one word, "Moroccan ?" I ask. He gives me a weird look and chuckles, "How did you know?" He questions. "Wild guess?" I say with a smirk. "Great guess" he corrects, " So are you?" He says shortly after, confusion covers my face for a few seconds before realization dawns onto me that he asked me was I okay- "I'm fine! Are you?" I quickly ask, inspecting him. He looks at me and a throaty laugh escapes from somewhere within him, "couldn't be better, sweetheart- I'm Isaac, by the way" he says extending his hand. Taking his hand in mines I answer "Vieanola" he smiles-
*knock, knock, knock*
The sound of someone knocking on the door eluded me from my memories, I stand there for a few seconds recovering myself, when whoever is at the door started to knock again. I cut the water off and grab my robe, and slipped my slippers on as I quickly tread to the door. Swinging it open I come face to face with none other than my best friend. "Anna, what do you want?" I sigh, "Nice to see you too" she smiles, squeezing her way into my apartment. "What were you doing? I called you at least 1,111 times!" She exaggerates. "I'm sure you did, Anna, I was in the shower" I reply. "Well you aren't now so get dressed ! We're going out" she yells. "Going out where?!" I whine, I Hate going out. "Well to the mall ofc, so cmon now!" She yet again screams. "Please tell me where do you get all of this energy?" I question, walking to my room. She doesn't answer, just skips past me, why are we even friends again ?
I wonder.
After Anna told me how much she disliked my outfit she found me a new one, made me dress, did my make up to my dismay, and now here we are six hours later and still at the mall, ugh. "Can I go home now, please?!" I ask. "Nopee" she singsongs, she's so annoying. Anna was in the middle of telling me what her and Chris, her boyfriend, have planned for their anniversary next week when her phone rang interrupting her, thank God. Don't get me wrong I love Anna, she just can be a bit much sometimes. "Okay, I'll be there...bye" I hear her say before she hangs up her phone, turning to me. "I am soo sorry, but my boss just called me into work, I have to go" she apologizes. "It's fine, really!" I assure her, she then kisses my cheek and leaves out. Grabbing the few bags I do have I walk towards the exit, man! I forgot Anna drove me here, guess I'll have to walk the couple blocks back to my apartment.
Everyone knows walking the streets of the city nearing dark is basically, no Bueno, but I have no choice. I zip my jacket up and head down the street. One block into my walk I notice a strange man was following me. I tried to ignore it at first, panicking I pick up my pace, nearly sprinting down the street. Looking back, I notice he too started to walk faster. With my heart plummeting in my chest I start to take off around the corner; my apartment is only a few streets over. Still running I glance back just in time to see the man turning into an alleyway. Thanking the lord, I stop running to catch my breath. Finally I have caught my breath, I start to walk again when I was lunged backwards onto the ground. Looking up in surprise I realize it was the guy that was chasing me not too long ago. This creepy smirk covers his face and the blood runs thin from mines, as everything goes black
