I stepped inside the subway just as the doors were about to close. I sat down and tried to focus on my heavily breathing, as I had just run three blocks to catch the train. «Not bad, Gilinsky.» Matt laughed and plonked down on the seat next to me. I turned to him, tilted my head and looked at confused. «Not bad?» I asked, still breathing heavily . «This was a record! I've never run this fast in my life before!» We both laughed. «You should really start working out. Why don't you join us at football practice next week?» He suggested and I raised one eyebrow, not believing what he had just said. «Are you telling me I'm fat?» I ask and he frowned suddenly. «No, no, that's totally not what I was saying. I was just suggesting that, to be in a better condition, you could-» I interrupted him with laughter. «Calm down, Espinosa. I was kidding. You know I'm not that sensitive. And, to be honest, you're right. I should really start doing sports. Maybe I'll go for a run tomorrow.» I said and Matt smiled relieved. «Doesn't your brother go for a run every morning?» Matt asked and I nodded. «Man, he's really sporty. Football practice, running and gym. Next to him I look like a skinny, lazy guy.» Matt complained and I took his hand. «Oh, don't worry dear.» I said in a pitiful voice. «You always look like this.» Matt punched me playfully and I laughed. «Columbus Circle Station.» A female robot voice announced. «Come on, get up.» I told Matt and pushed the opening button for the subway doors. «That's our stop.» We stepped out of the train and walked upstairs. «Where were we meeting the guys again?» I asked looking around the place. It was one of these times when I realized that New York was immensely big. When you've lived in the city your whole life, you sometimes forget how big it is. The great skyscrapers and many people don't seem so big if you see them everyday. «At Wendy's. Come on, we've gotta hurry, we're already late.» Matt said, took my hand and started walking fast. When we arrived at Wendy's, everyone was already there. My brother Jack was already sitting in a booth in the corner with his best friends, laughing. We always spend time together, preferably at fast foods restaurants, outside or at each other's houses. I was so integrated in Jack's friend circle, they were all like brothers to me. And Jack was so integrated in my friend circle, he, well, slept with my best friend, Mahogany, who is the nicest, most loving person I've ever met. She's hilarious, understanding and extremely beautiful. No wonder my brother chose her over all the girls that admired him. But today, it was just the boys and me. Mahogany was hosting a dance class. «Hey, look who's there!» Carter shouted as he spotted us and we took a seat. «What took you so long?» Nash asked smiling and Matt and I exchanged a glance. I bit my lip at the thought of what made us miss not only one train, but also almost another one. «Oh, you know, we stumbled across a friend of mine on the street.» Matt lied quickly and his cheeks turned intensely red, as always when he lied. «Which friend?» Cameron asked curious. Matt cleared his throat and licked his lips. «His name is... Liam.» The guys looked at him confused. «Liam?» Johnson asked and raised one eyebrow. «Who's that?» Matt looked at me, searching for help. «He's a former class mate of Matt's from elementary school, isn't he, Matt?» Matt nodded slowly and then smiled at me thankfully. «Yeah, he is. Did you order already?» And so he changed the subject of the conversation to food and I've never been more thankful. The waitress arrived at our table and served us our meals, which were mostly fries, burgers and soda. I unwrapped my Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger, removed the bacon and gave it to Matt, who took it thankfully and ate it quickly. «Enjoy your meal.» The waitress said smiling, especially glancing at Carter. «Hey, when is your shift over?» He asked with hearts in his eyes. She blushed, took out a little piece of paper and wrote something down, the passed it to Carter. «I'm working late tonight, but maybe give me a call tomorrow?» She winked and then went back to the kitchen, leaving Carter speechless with his chin dropped. «Hey!» Nash snapped his finger in front of Carters eyes and he woke up from his trance. «What?» He asked confused. «Shut your mouth, you'll catch a fly.» Carter put the note in his pocket and then started eating his burger. «So, what have you guys been up to today?» I ask while chewing on some French Fries. Nash almost chokes on a tomato and coughed so hardly, he could only be calmed down by Cameron tapping him on his back. «Dude, are you okay?» I asked and he nodded slowly. Cameron giggled. «Yeah, he's okay. He was just thinking about what he did today.» He told me and everyone burst out into laughter. I swallowed my food and looked at them angrily. «Will someone please enlighten me?» I begged and Shawn was the first one to stop laughing and told me what's going on. «Nash had a date earlier.» He said and I glanced over at him. He was still red from his choking paroxysm and tries to avoid looking me in the eye. «With whom?» I ask excited, fully in my element. I'm a very curious person, and although I don't like judging people, I love to hear gossip. «It was with...Drumroll, please!» Shawn asks and the boys tap on the table to do a drum roll. «...Allison!» Shawn announced ceremonious. My chin dropped and I looked at Nash, not believing what I had just heard. «You're dating Allison? The Allison?» Nash nodded slowly, embarrassed by everyone making kissing sounds and mocking him. «I mean, she is really pretty, right??» I asked rhetorically and the guys agreed. «That's great! Why haven't you told me?» I asked, now realizing I was bit hurt to be the last one to know. Nash cleared his throat, then looked me in the eyes. «I really wanted to, but... I just wanted to keep it casual, you know? It wasn't a big deal until... Today.» He said and I smiled. «Well, that's awesome! You and Allison, wow, you'd really make a great couple! I just thought you like Bella.» I said and dipped my fries into the ketchup. «I like Bella!» Nash defended himself loudly. «I... I liked Bella.» He then said, quieter. «It just... Didn't work.» He admitted and I touched his hand, looking at him sadly.

A/N: Hey everyone, this is the first chapter of my fan fiction and I think there's a little bit of stuff that I have to explain.
The protagonist is Emily Gilinsky, she is Jack Gilinsky's sister and looks like his ACTUAL sister Molly. In this fanfiction, Emily is his only sibling.
All of the Magcon 2013 boys live in New York City and are just about to become famous.
I'd love for you to give me feedback about my story and I hope the first chapter isn't too long :)
xx,
Anny
