*Trinity's PoV*

I gazed out the window as my mum drove my back towards our house. I was surprised that she didn't ask any questions or give out about me staying with Louis the two previous nights. My guess was that she could sense that something was up and was trying not to be smug about how right her suspicions about Louis were.

My phone buzzed a couple of times during the 15 minute journey, but I didn't even bother to check what it was for. There were probably a few messages and calls from Louis, but he could wait. He didn't need to know what I was up to every single second of my life.

The car engine shuddered to a halt and I swung the door open, hauling myself out and walking towards the front door with the keys in my hand. I had left my dress and heels in Louis' house, but I could get them whenever, it's not like I was planning to go to any mad parties any time soon. The door creaked open and I flung the keys onto the hall table, leaving the door open for my mum and immediately beginning to climb the stairs. I heard my mother come and in and she walked straight into the kitchen. She didn't ask me any questions and I was glad for that.

I flopped down onto my bed almost as soon as I had shut my bedroom door, giving into the comfort of the soft mattress and the warm duvet and heaving out a long sigh. I was torn between two minds. One part wanted to just stay here forever and never think about these boy problems again, while the other part was juggling possible solutions to the problems.

One thing was for sure; I needed a break, if even for a little while. I fumbled in my pocket, pulling out my phone and flicking the switch on the side, so that it was set to silent. I tossed it onto my dresser clumsily, not even bothering to check if it was okay, and lay back down on the bed, face first. It seemed my late night from the night before was catching up on me. I decided a few minutes of sleep before dinner wouldn't do me any harm, and let my eyes close slowly.

It turns out that 'a few minutes' of sleep, actually turned into three hours. I awoke to the sound of my mother's loud voice booing up the stairs, calling me down for dinner. Sleepily, I sat up, stretching my arms over my head and brushing my tangled hair back from my face with my hand. My eyes remained barely opened as I plodded down the stairs, only opening fully when I saw what lay on the table for me.

It was a roast dinner, the plate covered in roast beef, roasted carrots and parsnips, Yorkshire puddings and, most importantly, gravy. My stomach rumbled, suddenly hungry. My mother gave me a small smile as she set down her own plate opposite mine.

"What did you do today?" I asked her as we tucked in, trying to make polite conversation.

She shrugged her shoulders as she placed a forkful of vegetables into her mouth. "Just went into the office for a few hours, the usual," she answered once she had finished the mouthful of food. She didn't asked me what I had been up to, which I was rather relieved by. I didn't particularly want to explain everything to her. I don't think that she avoided the question because she knew I would have been uncomfortable answering it, I think it was simply because she didn't care, but I was thankful either way.

We ate in silence, only to be interrupted by a harsh knocking on the front door. My mother and I looked at each other, as if competing for who would stay sitting and who would answer the door, and eventually I won, leaving my mother to slide her chair back from the table reluctantly and answer the door.

I continued to eat while she was gone, only to freeze when I saw her reappear in the room with another figure. She gave me an almost devilish smirk as she piled another plate full of food and setting it down in the place beside me. The figure tried to deny the food, but my mum was having none of it. I chewed slowly and kept my eyes on the plate as Louis sat down beside me smoothly.

I could see him moving his food around his plate, occasionally placing a piece in his mouth, watching me from the corner or his eye. I knew he would want to know why I had been avoiding him, and I didn't particularly want to talk to him about it at that moment in time.

My mother watched us silently from the other side of the table, and I knew that she had deliberately let him in just so she could see what was going on. I clenched my jaw to fight the anger rising inside of me and continued to eat, getting up from the table and placing my plate in the dishwasher when I had finished. Without looking back towards Louis, I ambled out of the kitchen and began towards my room, trying to act casually.

I heard another chair slide back from the table and the clatter of the plate against the counter-top, and soon footsteps echoed up the stairs behind me. I didn't stop until I reached my room. I left my door open, figuring it would be a bit rude to slam the door in his face, no matter how much I was trying to avoid him. Instead, I sat down on my bed and began flicking through a magazine that had been lying idle. It was out of date by six months, but it wasn't as if I was really reading it anyway.

"Trinity," I heard the familiar voice sigh from across the room.

I looked up, giving him a brief, small smile before looking back down at the awful magazine.

He walked towards the bed and I felt it dip as he sat down next to me. The magazine was snatched out of my hands and I found myself staring into a set of piercing blue eyes instead. They were a much more intriguing sight, granted, but not what I particularly wanted to see at that moment in time.

"What's wrong now?" he asked, in an almost bored tone.

I put on my best fake smile and pecked him on the cheek for added effect, before replying with a confident; "Nothing."

Unfortunately, Louis saw through me like a window. He raised an eyebrow and kept an unrelenting gaze until I caved, heaving a sigh and sitting upright.

"I'm just worried, that's all," I told him, fumbling with my hands.

He gave me a questioning look and I continued.

"Your friends," I began, and I saw his jaw tense at the mention of his friends, "They told me that you like to play this game with girls. Lie to them. Pretend that you're ready for a relationship, mess with their heads, then cut them loose when you get bored. It just sounds a lot like what there is between us, and I don't wanna be someone's playing piece. Fleur told me to ask you about it, so that's what I'm doing. Be honest with me, am I just another pathetic part of your game? Have you just been lying to me about anything, or even everything?"

His mouth parted and his features softened.

"T," he said, calling me by the only nickname that I actually liked, "I swear, it's not like that. We've been over this. You're different. This is different."

He intertwined our fingers, kissing me on the forehead and bringing me close, resting my head on his chest.

"I swear, it's not like that," he repeated, "This is exactly why I didn't want you around my friends. They'll just fill your head with bullshit about my past. You don't need to hear that."

I remained still for a few moments, contemplating what he said.

"I don't need to hear that," I replied, "Or you don't want me to hear that?"

That time, he didn't answer; only cuddled me in closer to his chest and peppered yet another delicate kiss on my temple.
