I glanced at a stony-faced Draco Malfoy behind me as Professor Dumbledore continued his speech about Cedric. Every single student from every house was clad in all black, and even the banners waving above us seemed in mourning for the young Hufflepuff. Once the speech had reached it's end, everyone shuffled out of the Great Hall, with murmurs piercing the former silence of the school. I picked up my pace a bit to walk next to Draco.
"Hey."
Draco jumped, a bit startled. I giggled, and he looked relieved.
"Hey yourself." He replied, grinning crookedly. "You ready for summer?"
"Not really. I mean, I've got almost no wizards where I live, Mum and Dad like to keep under the radar." I groaned. Draco gave me a sly smile.
"Maybe I could come to where you live this summer, and we could go somewhere? Like as friends, obviously, I mean, I wouldn't want to impose on any plans you made or anything..." He said this all very fast, but it was adorable how bright pink his normally paper-pale cheeks got. I pecked him on the cheek.
"That would be great." I said, smiling up at him. He grabbed my hand in his own, and starting swinging them as we walked.
"It's a date." He said, probably more casually than he felt, as we continued onto our early-morning Potions.----------------------------------------------
"You're doing WHAT?!" Autumn squealed as she held on to a Snargaluff pod.
"I might be hanging out with Draco over the summer."
"Autumn," Clara sing-songed, "I think you owe me something..." Autumn groaned as she reached into her robe, and after pulling out several pictures of Doctor Who and some Chocolate Frogs, she finally slammed a Galleon on the table. We gave her a questioning look.
"It's a good show!" Autumn defended, as Clara swept the Galleon into her pocket.
"You guys bet on whether or not Draco and I would hang out over the summer?" I chortled, rereading the instructions in our dog-eared Herbology textbook that was open on the table.
"No, we bet on whether or not the two of you would go on a date by the start of our 5th year!" Clara corrected, laughing.
"I thought he might want to wait until at least 5th year..." Autumn grumbled, continuing smashing the pods.
"But it's not even a date!" I protested, giving them both a bit of a mum look from over the tops of my goggles.
"Just you two somewhere? Alooonneeeee??" Clara teased, laughing.
"Still not a date." I quietly protested, grinning at my absolutely insane friends.
"Yeah right!" Autumn practically screamed, "We've been waiting for this moment for months after your first kiss with him and now you're saying it's not a date??!!??" At this point, everyone in the greenhouse was staring at us, probably thinking, "What on earth are they doing now..."
"Ladies!" Professor Sprout called, "Could you come see me for a moment?" I glared at my friends a little bit, and we grudgingly walked up to Professor Sprout's desk.
"Detention, the three of you. For disrupting my class." Autumn, Clara and I groaned. I caught Professor Sprout's eye, and she winked. I looked at her curiously, and she said, in a much softer tone, "Good luck with Draco, my dear. He's turned into quite a nice boy since you two went to the Yule Ball together." With that, she shooed us away and back to our pods. Autumn and Clara were both chortling.
"We could care less about detention!" Clara giggled, "Professor Sprout ships Sago!" Autumn and I laughed, and the three of us grabbed our goggles and continued stabbing the pods.A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter! Much love to you all for being so patient!
