The weekend could not have come any faster. The week went by normally; Sawyer irritating me, boring lectures and pointless assignments.

But today was Friday, finally. I invited Luke and Ariel over to hangout in the home theater for our usual sleepover. We haven't had the chance to have one recently since Luke is usually at after school football practice, but since their big game was a week away, they decided to give the boys a Friday off. For the past hour or so, we had been talking about everything going on these past couple weeks, and especially about Halloween, which was right around the corner.

"Do you understand how hard coach pushes us? I feel like my body is going to burst after every practice." Luke said rubbing his shoulders to relieve some of the tension.

"Well, apparently the team this year is undefeated. It's like you guys became ten times better." Ariel bluntly added in as she picked at her gold nail polish.

Luke scoffed. "Whatever. Stop being a Debby downer! You know I'm stressing over this big time. And you saying that definitely doesn't help, Ariel."

"Aw, did I hurt Princess Luke's feelings?" Ariel rolled her eyes.

"Someone has a pole up her ass."

"Can you guys please stop?" Sitting between two children would definitely cause you a headache. Ariel sometimes got annoyed by Luke, but sometimes Ariel got under Lukes skin. So if you see what I see, it works both ways. They're two completely different people, but over time, they've managed to get along for the most part and for my sake. "You don't need to bring his self-esteem down Ariel, you know how big this game is to him." I looked at Luke now. "You Luke, need to calm the fuck down. You guys seriously have nothing to worry about. In fact, you guys are one of the most dedicated teams I've ever seen. Plus you, Sawyer, Greyson, and Jasper are amazing players. Next year, after we graduate, you guys will be legends."

"This is why I call you my best friend, Scar." Luke gave me a goofy grin, which only made me smile bigger.

"Have you guys started your Environmental Systems project?" I was sprawled onto the recliner chair now.

"Yeah, Greyson and I finished in class today actually." Ariel smiled proudly.

"Nah, your bro and I have been busy with stuff."

I gave him an "oh-is-that-so" look. Luke laughed uneasily as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Bonehead."

"Shut up, we'll do it soon."

"Or as in get one of your groupies to do it?"

"Psht, noo. Plus I don't hump and dump, you know that." He smirked anyways because he knew it was true.

"I've been so swamped with other homework, I've only done so much in class, and that's without Sawyers help, of course."

After our talk about school and the project, Luke suggested we watch a movie. "Let's watch American Psycho?"

"Are you crazy?" Ariel and I said in unison.

Don't get me wrong, I love scary movies, but I heard this movie corrupts your mind. It's creepy. Christian Bale is a good actor and all, but I so do not need this. And definitely at this time of night. It felt late, but it was only sometime past 8. Supposedly, this movie was disturbing and I don't need freakin' nightmares. But in the end, Luke had won. We played rock, paper, or scissors. 3 out of 3. No surprise there. Ariel and I were cuddled up together during all the intense scenes. I would even cover Lukes eyes during the naked scenes. He'd groan and pout.

We were in the middle of the movie, one of those eerie scenes that give you goose bumps, makes you feel like you have to be aware of all your surroundings; the ones where the victim is in dead silence, checking behind their back, and all around their surroundings. Then, that's when the killer music is cued. I was literally on the edge of my seat, anticipating any outcomes of something, or someone popping out.

My body was tensed, like all my muscles numbed and relaxed.

"This is my favorite part." A voice said in my ear, coming from behind me causing all the hairs on my neck to stand up. Making me scream at the exact moment Christian Bales victim screams.

Luke and Ariel jumped out of their seats, Ariel screaming as she did so. I turned around to see Sawyer sitting on one of the recliners, clutching onto his stomach, laughing to the point of crying.

"What the actual fuck Sawyer!" I yelled as I held onto my chest. "You scared me!"

"Icannotbelieveyouscreamed!" Sawyer said but the words came out all jumbled together, and he tried to calm down.

I sat back down crossing my arms and leaned back into my chair. "Why are you even here?"

"My parents left out of town for a business trip to Florida, your brother is "busy", and Greyson has some family dinner he had to go to." He simply shrugged. "You were my last resort."

"Oh joy!"

"Right? You get to spend a whole night with me. You should feel honored."

"Aw, that's always been my dream come true. I don't know how i'm going to live on. I can die happy now."

He laughed without any humor. "Whatever sweetheart."

"Don't you have any groupies you could bother?"

He covered his chest with mock hurt. "I'm offended. What kind of guy do you take me for? Plus, we aren't fully unpacked, so there really isn't anything for me to do."

"You really wouldn't want to know." I muttered under my breath.

"What was that?"

"Oh, nothing."

I didn't feel like arguing back with this egotistical jerk, so I put my focus back on the movie. Sawyer ended up moving next to Luke for the remainder of the movie. Ariel ended up falling asleep a little before the movie had even ended. I guess she couldn't handle anymore. This time I got to choose the movie, so I chose Halloween 2: Directed by Rob Zombie. It was only Luke, Sawyer, and myself left. Great.
