"Ye Jin, did you hear what I was saying?"the stupidly annoying high-pitched voice asked me for the umpteenth time today.

"Hm, I hear you perfectly fine,"I answered with a dull voice as I fed myself another spoonful of mango pudding.

"Ye Jin, I've been treating you to food and drinks almost everyday ever since the first day we met. I haven't been telling you this because I wanted to keep your feelings in check but what about my feelings? You always ignore whatever I say. Whenever I ask you to hang out with me on the weekends, you always reject my offer. Do you really want to be deemed as a horrible friend?"the fake white girl sitting opposite from me expressed herself.

That was it. That was the last straw.

I slammed my pudding cup onto the table, causing the contents to fly onto all over her face. She gasped overdramatically as she wiped her face with the tissue next to her. By now, we've already attracted quite a crowd. I stood up and leaned across the table to be eye-to-eye level with her.

"You're friends with me just because you want me to teach you korean so that you can communicate with your 'oppas'. To your other fakeass white friends, you told them that I am nothing but an item you're going to throw away once you're done with. You treat me to food and drinks? Did I ask you to? Why do I always ignore everything you say? That's because you talk about the same shit everyday. I listen, you talk. That sums up our friendship, doesn't it? Why do I always reject your offer to hang out with me on the weekends? That's because you treat me like a spare tyre. When you need me, you treat me nicely. When you have your other friends, you toss me away. Now do you understand why I'm like this? I'm no longer your puppet so go ahead and play with someone who will entertain your bullshits."

By the time I finished my rant, her jaw was hung opened as her whole face turned beet red due to embarrassment. I stared at her with disgust one last time before turning my back to her and walking out of the cafeteria with my bag slung on one of my shoulders. I was done with being used and keeping my mouth shut about it.

"You're going to regret this!"she shouted at me but I just flashed her my middle finger in the air.

Due to the fact that Bridget was one of the most popular girl in school, I got criticised at during the rest of the day. The worst part was that I still had the same classes as her but I just endured through it all. No one knew how relieving it was when the school bell rang, signalling to the end of curriculum time.

Avoiding the crowded places, I managed to come out of the hell of a school alive. I sighed as I entered my car and turned on the air-conditioner to the highest level. As the graduation ceremony date was nearing, it felt as if the weather was getting hotter and hotter.

I am in my senior year now. In other words, it's my graduating year. It was actually difficult to get all of the words out of my mouth to Bridget just now but with the thought of myself graduating in a few weeks' time, I gathered up enough courage. I guess that in a way, the only reason I was friends with Bridget was because I wanted to survive high school.

Currently, I'm living at Los Angeles with my father, stepmother, stepbrother and grandmother. I've been living here ever since I was in my 6th grade. I was about 11 back then (A/N: she is 12 in korean age) when my parents divorced and my father managed to gain the custody over me. The process of the divorce didn't take too long because my parents ended on quite a good term.

It was weird, of course, seeing as to how I was supposed to be in my 6th grade (my last year of elementary school) in Korea. However, when I moved to L.A, I was in my 6th grade but it was actually my first year in middle school. All of this happened in the same year and naturally, as a child, it took quite some time for me to adjust to the abrupt changes.
